Description; the hard-to-find Victory Saber piece in miniature, and affordable!

Both pieces are approximate 5" tall and are accurate recreations of the amazing piees.  Star Saber has Is mostly white with red, blue, and yellow hi-lights and transforms into a giant fighter plane.  In addition it's chest and head can seperate from the main form to become a smaller robot and another plane.  Victory Leo is yellow with dark brown hi-lights and turns into a lion.

They merge into Victory Saber; Victory Leo splits in half and turns into 'boots' that attach to Star Saber's feet.  A portion of Victory Leo's back attaches to Star Saber's back adding a number of large cannons' to the bot's fire-power.  Victory Leo's lion form can also merge with the back end of Star Saber's fighter form, creating a massive fighter/bomber.

All figures are equited with multiple weapons and can be used by both 'bots in all forms.
Victory Saber - Robotmasters RM 17, Takarai
Meat and Potatoes; 5.0
Perks; 5.0
Homer Factor; 5.0
Many years ago, I got Star Saber for my birthday, an amazing piece of work from the 'Transformers - Victory' line that never made it here from Japan.  It was an amazing piece, which also had the ability to merge with the lion-shaped Transformer Victory Leo.  Oh yeah, biiiiiiiiiiiig Transformer with MASSIVE guns all over the place.  Sweeeeeet.  Um... one problem... finding Victory Leo is hard to do and pretty expensive, i.e. about $300 these days.  Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

So it has been years of wondering... waiting... PRAYING for a chance to complete the 'bot Victory Saber.  Recently, Takara started a new line of Transformers called 'Robotmasters'; smaller versions of the robots with lots of articulation.  Oy!  ANOTHER re-done robot.  Whatever.  Well, surprise, surprise, Victory Saber was offered!  So how bit is this thing?  Pretty dang small.  So why bother?  Because Takara proves it kicks butt, whether the 'bots are 11" tall... or only 5".

Meat and potatoes are very impressive.  The separate figures are 5" tall.  Yep, 5", a bit bigger then a Star Wars figure.  And you're thinking 'Ok, this is gonna suck!'  Wrong.  The sculpting is outstanding.  Vents, panel lines, everything is done incredibly well.  On top of that the articulation is pretty dang good.  Ok, not the same level as the current ones, but considering it's 5" tall, you cannot complain.

Ah, but the perks are over-the-top.  First both transform into their respective vehicles; from 'bot to lion and bot to plane.  Ah, but there's more.  Star Saber in it's large version had a jet hidden in it's chest that turned into a robot.  So does this smaller version.  Both come with multiple hand-weapons for both bots.  And there's more.  The jet and lion modes merge into a MASSIVE vehicle.  This form is armed with ton's o' guns.  And THEN there's the Victory Saber form.  The 'bot over-all is about 7" tall.  All this from two bots no more then 5" tall.  Not bad.

Homer factor.  When I first heard about the 'Robotmasters' I shrugged.  Ooooohhhhh... small Transformers.  Yeah, whatever.   Probably cruddy transformation, no articulation, whatever.  Well, guess what fans; Takara didn't disappoint us.

Does this completely replace the full-sized version?  Unfortunately, no.  Come on, the full-sized version is over 11" tall!  What's not to like?  BUT, if you're tired to checking out E-Bay and thinking "Well... ya know... if I pay rent a week late...'  this is a GREAT chance to get one of the great Transformers pieces, and it's AFFORDABLE!  Woohoo!
