GENERAL INFORMATION

The Recorder Society of Connecticut was founded by Elise Jaeger and Helen Hermes. More... Our first official meeting was in January, 1989. The monthly meetings are typically held on the first Saturday morning of each month at Walnut Hill Community Church, 156 Walnut Hill Road, in Bethel, Ct. Directions

Our programs are coordinated by Susan Iadone, our Music Director. Susan performs with many period instruments groups, and has recorded extensively. She teaches at early music workshops across the country, and is the recorder instructor at St. David’s School in New York City.

Many of our sessions will be directed by Karen Snowberg. Karen, the Music Director of the Westchester Recorder Guild and a sought after performer on cornetto and recorder, continues her affiliation with RSC. We continue to attract exciting and distinguished guest conductors, including Sheila Beardslee, Ken Andresen, Larry Zukof, Susan Thompson, and others.

RSC offers mini-workshops in Fall and Spring. Information and registration information will be provided on this website as well as in flyers. Please contact Elise Jaeger if you wish to be placed on the mailing list.

The RSC Music library, directed by Susan Moravek, is accessible to RSC members.

The annual RSC membership fee is $50, with a monthly participation fee of $15, payable by all attendees except those who choose to prepay. Prepayment of $95 includes membership and participation fees for the year.

All recorder players are invited to attend one meeting on a trial basis. Members of other ARS chapters are welcome to attend any time, for the $15 session fee.

We are a chapter of the American Recorder Society.
