Bullets Used In TV Guide

The following is a list of bullets used in TV Guide, and the symbols used in this site to represent them.

[x] -- white-on-black



"x" -- black-on-white



|x| -- single-digit "sandwich"



x|x -- traditional double-digit "sandwich"



|xx| -- Adelphia-style double-digit sandwich (used in Adelphia-style US TVGs, the Calgary-Edmonton Cable TVG, TV 7 Jours & TV Hebdo)



(xxx) -- cable channel or regional terrestrial network, either in a form of abbreviation (ex: (SHO)) or terrestrial channel number (first x or 2 x's) and a letter (third x if channel # is 2 digits (ex: (10M)), second x if channel # is one digit (ex: (6M))



 =x= white bullet with 3 lines on each side (Commonly found in Canadian and Adelphia-style US TVGs)



=[x]= black bullet with 3 lines on each side (Commonly found in Canadian and Adelphia-style US TVGs)


 [(x)] white bullet with a circle around the number (used in TV 7 Jours  & TV Hebdo only)


Special Notes & Cases:

1. In Mountain Time Zone editions of TVG, there are 2 listings for HBO (the main HBO only); (HBO)(E) denotes HBO's eastern feed, while (HBO)(W) denotes its western feed. Please note that (E) & (W) are just letters in parentheses (in grids, they are no parentheses), and are not special bullets.

2. In Mountain & Pacific editions, special disclaimers are provided on the "Channels Listed" page, reminding viewers that there are 2 feeds available for a particular cable channel.  In these cases, Mountain viewers should add 3 hours (or subtract 3 hours, depending on feed listed); Pacific viewers should subtract 3 hours.
