Castlevania: Circle of the Moon

Castlevania has always been a great series, however, I was dissapointed when I bought Circle of The Moon. The graphics are at best average, but it is way to dark to tell anyway. You will need to be in a very brightly lit room to see all the details of the backgrounds and characters. The sound is pretty good, and the story also isn't bad, but is very unoriginal. Basically you go around looking for Dracula, and when you find him you kill him.

Gameplay however, is one of the better aspects of the game. You start out with your trusty whip and you can collect cards that will combine to make weapons and items like throwing axes. You can attack without weapons too, and slide attack into foes. Enemies include skeletons, zombies, gargoyles, snakes, bats, and other things related to the undead. You'll recognize some of the bosses as they are back from older Castlevania games. This game has some old-school platforming gameplay which most people should enjoy.

The replay value of the game is above average, since you can unlock different modes every time you beat teh game. Overall, I don't enjoy the game, but if you get hooked you will be playing for hours and hours. Also, if you are a fan of the series definetely pick the game up.
Overall Score: 7.465
