The different modes include : Exhibition Mode Tournament Mode League Mode Elimination Match Survival Match Audience Match Edit mode The gameplay is just like any other wrestling game. You can punch, kick, grapple, run, rest, and do a hard hit. In exhibition mode you can pound your friend or face the computer in normal mode, deathmatch, or gruesome. Normal mode is just regular wrestling where you try to pin your opponent. In deathmatch and gruesome you get to beat down a wrestler until they are knocked out. In Gruesome mode you play in an octagonal ring, where as you play in a normal ring in the other two modes. Tournament mode sets up a single match elmination for you and the computer. Up to 16 people can join in the tournament. League mode allows you to create your own league of up to 64 wrestlers. You choose one of the wrestlers and go through something like a season mode beating down other opponents. Elimination match and survival match are both good modes. Elimination match allows you to team up with 4 computer players, and team up against another 5 computer players in single elimination tournament. Survival Mode allows you to keep beating up enemy computer players one at a time, until you are pinned or knocked out. Audience matches are a very unique part of the game. They allow you to fight until you win the votes of the fans. In order to win, you must fight in certain styles. Each style is very unique, and you must only do moves of that style to win. We'll tell you the stlyes, but not how to play them. :-) The styles include: Strong Style Showman Style Lucha Style King's Road Style Stop Style Hardcore Style FreeStyle Edit Mode allows you to edit wrestlers, organizations, renaming wrestlers, moving wrestlers in and out of leagues, and trading wrestlers with your friends. This mode only adds to the replay value, as you can try to defeat many of the modes with your own characters, or make a league with characters only you and your friends have made. The graphics are overall good but they may give some people a hard time. First of all, it can be difficult to distinguish the difference between 2 wrestlers leaving you confused on which one you are. The only way to find out is by trial and error leaving you with a "cheap" feeling when you lose. Personaly, I don't think it is one of the best games for the GBA, and that there are many titles better and worse than this. However, if you are a fan of wrestling you might be able to pick this game up, and play it for hours because of the large amount of modes. Lastly, Fire Pro Wrestling is not your normal wrestler, and uses actual skill and timing, not button smashing. Overall Score: 8.0 -Ze Potato- ![]() Fire Pro Wrestling should hold you off for a while in the wait for better games. Out of all the launch games, Fire Pro has one of the higher replay values because of it's many modes. Creating wrestlers, leagues, and renaming people can add some fun. As it is fun to make one of your friend's a wrestler and beat him down. :) IMO, everything else is average including gameplay, since I am not a big fan of wrestling. Not a bad game to pick up, espicially if you are holding off for a future GBA game. It definetely gives you a fresh way of looking at wrestling. Overall Score: 7.4 |
