Introduction

Most Recognizable Series

Street Fighter If you haven't heard of the SF series, you must be living under a rock. The first game in the series had two playable characters (Ryu and Ken) and a few enemies to face. The game sold poorly, however, caught on to a few hardcore fans. It wasn't until Street Fighter 2 was released for the arcades that it's name got out. The game included 8 selectable character ranging from countries around the world. The game also is known for creating the first popular female character, Chun Li. Spreading throughout the world as the most popular arcade game, Capcom quickly released many sequels including: Street Fighter 2: Championship Edition, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, etc. Each game added a couple notable features such as adjustable speed, and new characters. As the game reached it's peak it finally went down. People started complaing about too many sequels, and lack of new options. Capcom then raced Sega in developing the 1st 3d fighting game, but lost to the likes of Virtua Fighter 2. Since then the SF series has died down a bit, but there are still many hardcore fans of the series.
Mega Man Capcom's attempt at the robot platformer was an instant success to the public. From then on many sequels have been made over all different platforms and systems. Each game adding new levels, weapons, and story, the game has granted Capcom a lot of money. Fans enjoy the deep gameplay, and addictive platforming skills. Capcom has tried to make it 3d, but the fans just want more 2d goodness. Mega Man has a very large userbase and is up there with Street Fighter.
Resident Evil With the first of the series released on January 1st, 1996, the game has been nominated as one of the most original games of it's time. With this game Capcom invented the horror series in which many games ahead would follow. The game put you right there against blood gushing zombies, and scary nights. The game was meant to play in the dark and is almost as fun to watch as it is to play. The suspense will keep you playing, yet the horror and surprise will keep you on your toes. Since then, Capcom expanded the series and it only got better and better. More haunting frights, scarier scenes, and perfected gameplay over time. Similar games such as Onimusha and Devil May Cry are also being developed by Capcom. Resident Evil games have gained a lot of popularity even if it is not as old as Mega Man or Street Fighter.
A Whole Bunch of Others Namely Breath of Fire, Elderado series, vs. series, Powerstone series, etc.

Games being developed for the GBA

Megaman EXE/2 The megaman series is coming to the GBA, but not like you think it would. Mixed in are RPG elements and battle system to give you a fresh feel towards the game. So far the game may dissapoint hardcore Mega Man fans, but in general should please most people.
Breath of Fire (2) Capcom brings the old school RPG to the GBA. A very popular series in Japan and in the US. Should be pretty good with new sprites and effects. Hopefully, it's a pretty succesful port.
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo Revival X/Alpha 3 Ports of two of the most popular SF games are coming to GBA. SSF2TRX has been succesfully ported with all features and notable additions. However, less is known about alpha 3 so we will have to wait to see what Alpha 3 will be like. Hopefully, Capcom can succesfully port it with all the old features and a good one cartridge multiplayer support.
Final Fight One The classic beat em up game for SNES will be brought to the GBA. The game is almost the same exact thing, except with new dialogue and a small graphical push.

What Capcom can do for the GBA

Capcom can push some serious 2d fighting games onto the GBA. With their SF series they can make some quick remakes and add multiple improvements to each. I doubt they will make a brand new SF, but we will see. The Marvel vs. series has a slim chance of making it onto the GBA, but I seriously doubt it. This is because of all the fast paced action and it'll be a tough job for Capcom. I would like them to prove me wrong though. :) The SNK vs. series has somewhat of a chance of making it onto the GBA. SNK is in debt, and they need to make some quick cash. Capcom vs. SNK would guarantee decent sale rates, and could possibly bring them out of debt.

Expect to see all the Breath of Fire series ported to the GBA along with the possibility of a brand new one. The GBA has the capabilities of making a good RPG as Golden Sun has proven. Megaman EXE series will probably continue for a long time, and add unique features such as trading items and things of that nature. I don't know, but there's a possibilty Capcom might want to pull the El Derado series into play.

A Megaman platforming game is probably already under development. It would be kind of odd not to, as the GBA is the perfect system to make it on. Also, a 2d Resident Evil game may be strange, but I think it can still work. I mean, the doors opening would still be kind of creepy... Capcom has so much to work with, that what they make is totally unpredictable. I hope the above gave you a somewhat idea of what Capcom may be giving to the GBA.
