Taiwan Report from Third Yao Strike (Part 2)

Introduction and Tidbits

Since I first spotted that kid playing a GBC, I have been a lot more successful. Since then I have found 2 more people playing GBCs, however, nobody playing GBA. I also found this child using some strange device that looked like a GBC with more buttons and more fragile. As you should know, Neo Geo is also doing pretty well here, and I spotted one kid playing Metal Slug. Anyway, there's not much going on here in Taiwan so I just thought I'd update just incase you were wondering where my reports were.

Arcades

My cousin and I found an arcade on the 5th floor of some department store. Arcades are generally pretty scarce around Taiwan. The place was called Tom's something. It was really small compared to most arcades in the US. On the left side were some kiddy games like bop the alligator, etc. On the right were many computers, and then some decently large TVs. The computer all had d-pads, and had mostly fighting games such as Third Strike, and KOF series. The CPU screens were quite annoying, as I'm used to playing on a screen a little bigger. I tried, and got pretty far using Benimaru, Shingo, Terry, and Kim. On the bigger screens you could play other games such as Dynasty Warriors 2 (Koei is really popular in Asia) and Confidential Mission. Not much choices but still pretty fun. Of course you had to pay for all this, and each game costed about 20 cents. Not bad.
