THPS2 is almost exactly the same as it's proceeders for DC and PSX. Few differences include: -The graphics are not 3d, but still are the best I've seen for GBA. This is because of the realistic 3d effect it gives you. -Stages are a lot smaller. -Creating a character is no longer available. -There isn't any multiplayer play, even though a game of "HORSE" wouldn't be that hard. The controls are very familiar and performing tricks and grinds are basically the same, besides the fact that the R and L buttons may feel awkward. All the old tricks are back, so you can perform all your favorites. The modes are basically the same as the DC/ PSX games. It has Career mode, Free skate, and Single Session. The Career mode allows you to pick a player and go through different levels with him. This is what you'll be playing most of the time since it's so well done. When you accomplish missions it asks you (such as score 50,000 points) you will gain money. With money you can buy new tricks and things like that. Free Skate is exactly the same which is good in my opinion. It is basically a practice mode, where you pick a stage and practice your tricks. The Single Session is allows you to try and score as many points in an amount of time you pick. This is one of the best GBA titles out there. You can do all the things you love to do in the Tony Hawk series. You can jump up to impossible hights and perform tons of tricks at once. You can fall form incredible heights with out breaking a bone in your body. The music is excellent just like all the other Tony Hawk Games. This is hands down a great game. Overall Score: 9.125 -Rossalameuw- ![]() Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 is a terrific game. Terrific gameplay mixed with an incredible engine and career mode will keep you playing forever! If you have played owned any Tony Hawk game you have probably realized how much fun it was, and this is no slouch. This is a no brainer for anyone who does not own THPS2 on other systems. Overall Score: 8.9 ![]() The series has been known for it's addictive skateboarding and point system, but that's not what amazes me the most about this game. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater pushes the Game Boy Advances Graphics to the limit, making it look 3d. This will most likely later be remembered as a benchmark for later developers. It will be an example of what the Game Boy Advance can handle graphically. I would really not suggest you buy this game. The fact that it has no multiplayer is a real disapointment, and it's already out on DC/PSX. If you do not own neither of those systems, you should think about picking up this title. Overall THPS2 IMO will be remembered for the graphical advancements on any portable system. However, the addictive gameplay will be remembered on the PSX and DC. Overall Score: 7.9 |
