The highly anticipated release of the Pro Wrestling Encyclopedia: 2001 Edition is here. Released in the spring of 1998, the original Pro Wrestling Encyclopedia was an attempt to publish a reference material that could be used by both the "smart" wrestling fan and the casual fan as a starting point to better familiarize themselves with the sport. The book did better than expected in sales and a second printing was required later that year.
After a three year sabbatical the second edition of the Wrestling Encyclopedia will be released in September of 2001. The new version of the book will contain double the information of the previous edition. Contents of the book include:

  • Listings of over 1,500 wrestlers worldwide, with stats and real names
  • An extensive alias list. Think your favorite wrestler formerly used another ring name? See for yourself.

  • Wrestling Observer Achievement Awards and Hall of Fame
