Hello Pheasants Forever Members! Yep, it's me again. We needed someone to take over the helm and I was volunteered. Steve Lindley, our past president, took a new job over in the LaGrande area and it was too far away to take on president duties over here. Steve did a great job as "Commander in Chief" and we will certainly miss him. Hopefully we will run into him fishing the Grande Ronde or chasin' those cagey roosters. Thanks to Habitat Chairman Chet Hadley, the Sage Basin Chapter has salvaged the big mix up with our WHIP money and he has single handedly allocated nearly $100,000 toward habitat agreements with local residents and agencies. So next time you run into Chet, give him a big "slap on the back". This is a substantial amount of money and huge committment. We will need everyone's help to see that all this money goes into the ground with as few a hitches as possible. We will be calling on some of you who have shown an interest in habitat work and you may need to bring a friend or two. But, hey! That's what its all about, right. Have some fun, get outside, and "give back" to what we all have been taking. Our 6th Annual Banquet is coming up. March 1st at the Desert River Inn, Umatilla, OR, 5:30pm. We are sending out banquet letter to all the members, collecting all the art work, sporting equipment, donations as we speak. We need your help on this, too. Help set it up, attend, and most important "spend some money". Hope to see you there. Sincerely, Tim Beatty 541-922-4626 |
