Ringnecks:
Our children, the future pheasant conservationist and sportsmen, are very important to Pheasants Forever and the Sage Basin Chapter. The core members are constantly striving to include kids in our habitat projects. Our chapter understands that we need to provide more activities and opportunities for our younger PF members. In June of 1998 our chapter put together a Ringnecks shotgun skills and hunting ethics event. With the help of our local hunter education instructors and PF volunteers the event was a great success.
At the February 1999 Fundraising Banquet we included kids in the event. We raffled an antlerless deer hunt and a chipmunk .22 rifle. In September our chapter cooperated with the ODF&W and helped at the shotgun skills clinic. We signed up over 70 new ringneck members and gave away a 20 gauge Remington Youth Model Express Shotgun (Donated by Beef Northwest). This year we plan on helping with the shotgun skills clinic once again on September 23 & 24, 2001.
