Jim Baen
- New Destinies, Vol. VI, Winter 1988 - Noted for it's
focus, that being a commeration of Robert A. Heinlein who
died then. .
Margaret Ball
Co-author with Ann
McCaffery of Partnership. See that entry.
Jeffery Barlough
- Strange Cargo - I picked this one up based upon the cover
but have not read it yet.
Steve Barnes
Co-author with Larry Niven
- Dream Park
- The Descent of Anansi
- The Barsoom Project
Alfred Bester
- The Stars My Destination - an excellent book about
teleportation as a psionic power and how it could change
society. Important to any psi campaign I'd run.
Ben Bova
I know I have read other books by Ben Bova, but this is the
only one I've read recently and can remember.
- Moonwar - A more modern version of "The Moon is
a Harsh Mistress" where the enemy is the UN
instead of a prison authority. An interesting and fast
read.
Elizabeth H. Boyer
- The Sword and the Satchel
David Brin
- Earth - Fairly interesting. Takes place in the a future
where crime doesn't exist only because everybody records
everything. Not a utopian novel, but interesting look at
the what could happen with society, although that is not
the plot of the book.
- Glory Season - Moderately interesting. Picked it up used
and read it. Science fiction novel of a planet where men
and women have been modified to breed differently. Plot
involves what I guess could be described as civil war in
that society.
- Kiln People - The start of the book was exciting, as is
the concept. The end dragged with lots of philosophy and
such. The concept of being able to create clay duplicates
(hence Kiln People) that last 24 hours before dissolving,
and then downloading their memories is interesting.
- The Postman - The book of course was very different from
the movie with Kevin Costner. The book was better and
made more sense. It seems that Hollyweird can only do the
Mad Max routine if the story takes place in a post-Apocolypse
Earth. I need to re-read it to comment more.
Mary Brown
Pigs Don't Fly Series
I didnt' know the first book was part of a series until
well after I read it.
- Pigs Don't Fly - An interesting fantasy journey &
growth novel. This is the only book of the series I've
read or own.
John Brunner
- The Sheep Look Up -
- Stand on Zanibar - Read this years ago.
Chris Bunch
I borrowed all of this series, except for the first one,
Sten, which I picked up used. I then lost it when I moved.
- Sten (#1)
- The Wolf Worlds (#2)
- The Court of a Thousand Suns (#3)
- Fleet of the Damned (#4)
- Revenge of the Damned (#5)
- The Return of the Emperor (#6)
- Vortex (#7)
