Sailor Moon originally started in 1991 when author Naoko Takeuchi wrote and drew the comic book Codename wa Sailor V. When the story of Sailor V unexpectedly became an overnight success, Miss Takeuchi was prompted to write Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon, a second comic book series which started out as a Sailor V side story. The comic book started circulation in February of 1992 and one month later, the television version also started.

As the stories of both the comic book and the television version progressed, it was becoming obvious that Sailor Moon had overtaken its predecessor Sailor V. The book and the television series have similar but different story lines.

Vol. 01 - 04, Acts 01 - 13
Sailor Moon

	Act 9: Princess	Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Kamen regain the memories of their past lives. Thus, Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion, and the Silver Crystal of Illusion appears. Prince Endymion is kidnapped by Kunzite.
Three	Act 10: The Moon	Sailor Venus gets the stone Moon Sword. Kunzite dies. Endymion is brainwashed.
	Act 11: Endymion	Queen Beryl and Endymion confront the Sailor Team. The stone Moon Sword becomes the Moon Sword of Illusion. Queen Beryl dies. Endymion and the Sailor Team go to the Dark Kingdom. Queen Metalia is released. Endymion dies.
	Act 12: Reincarnation	Sailor Moon dies. The four other inner senshi uses their powers to revive Sailor Moon. Endymion is revived.

Vol. 04 - 07, Acts 13 - 23
Sailor Moon R

The story was a compressed version of R. Moon Princess Halation ended every battle, even the final battle against Death Phantom. The only new elements were the appearance of Pluto and Chibiusa.

Seven	Act 23: Rebirth	Sailor Pluto stops time. Sailor Moon recovers the two Silver Crystals. Tuxedo Kamen regains consciousness. Sailor Pluto dies. The Black Lady becomes Chibiusa who then transforms into Sailor Chibi Moon. Demando dies. The Death Phantom (the true form of the Wiseman) appears. Neo Queen Serenity wakes up. 	Act 30: Infinity 7 Transformation - Super Sailor Moon	The outer planet senshi are healed. The three talismans are activated. The Holy Grail powers up. Super Sailor Moon appears. The planet senshi become "semi" super senshi - same uniform but heart-shaped brooches. Cyprine and Pichirol die. The outer senshi tell the story of Sailor Saturn. Ten	Act 33: Infinity 10 (Infinity Symbol) - Infinite Greatness	Hotaru bursts out of Mistress 9 and takes away the consumed crystals. The four guardians are revived. Chibiusa returns to normal. Hotaru dies. The Holy Grail mysteriously transforms into two. Super Sailor Chibi Moon appears. Rainbow Double Moon Heart Ache Mistress 9 dies. Pharaoh 90 appears. Super Sailor Moon runs into Pharaoh 90 and disappears. The three talismans mysteriously activate. Sailor Saturn appears. Super Sailor Moon is released from Pharaoh 90. The senshi and Mamoru celebrate Usagi and Chibiusa's birthday. A mysterious hawker appears near Chibiusa's school. The mysterious hawker goes to Chibiusa's school and brainwashes all the female students. Theta and Epsilon appear. Theta and Epsilon return to normal. The students return to normal.

Volume 11 Short Special
Kaguya Hime no Koibito

A crystalline object drops to the earth as a comet flies by. Kakeru appears and finds the crystal shard. The nine senshi and Mamoru celebrates Makoto and Minako's birthday. Luna leaves the party. Some kids on the street bandage up Luna's crescent moon mark. Kakeru rescues Luna. Hime appears. The crystal shard starts to grow. Hime and Kakeru break up (for reasons similar to those in the S movie). Luna kisses Kakeru. Kakeru goes to the Kennedy Space Centre. Luna steals away onto a plane to follow Kakeru. Princess Snow Kaguya appears. The first Snow Dancers appear. Princess Snow Kaguya attacks Kakeru. Sailor Moon appears and stops the attack. The outer senshi attack Princess Snow Kaguya but fail. Snow Kaguya explains her plan to freeze the world and starts to freeze Tokyo. The nine senshi combine their powers. Super Sailor Moon reappears. Snow Kaguya remembers that the light that Super Sailor Moon emanates is the same as a light that repelled her from Earth 4.5 billion years ago. Snow Kaguya dies. Sailor Moon uses the Holy Grail to change Luna into a human. Luna becomes Kaguya Hime. Kaguya Hime and Kakeru fly through space. Luna changes back into a cat.

Memories of Casablanca

Rei receives a present from her father (delivered by Mr. Kaido). Rei and Kaido eat at The Rain Tree restaurant. Rei and Makoto both get a music box from The Rain Tree. Makoto is charmed by the music box. Rei smashes the music box. An unnamed youma from The Rain Tree appears and tries to overpower Rei's mind by reminding her of how she was neglected as a child. Rei withstands the youma's trance and performs Akuryo Taisen. The unnamed youma dies.

Chibiusa dreams of Pegasus and receives the Crystal Carillon. Chibiusa tries to go home but fails. Pegasus appears to Chibiusa and tells her about the Golden Crystal. Pegasus tells Chibiusa his name (Elios). Vesves releases a tiger into the city. Usagi and Chibiusa try to transform into their super form but fails. Usagi and Chibiusa mysterious gets new transformation compacts (from Pegasus). The matching moon rods become matching Kaleid Moon Scopes. The Amazoness Quartet attacks. The Amazoness Quartet retreats. Zirconia talks to a black mirror. Pallapalla changes a fish, a tiger and a hawk into humans. The Amazon Trio (Hawk's Eye, Tiger's Eye and Fish Eye) appear. Pallapalla curses Usagi and Chibiusa and causes them to swap ages.
	Act 35:Dream 2 The Dream of Mercury	Fish Eye attacks Ami. Ami sees the Mercury Sprite (a miniature of Sailor Mercury) in a vision. Ami gets the Mercury Crystal. Usagi and Chibiusa reaches the battle scene and breaks the curse by transforming. Fish Eye dies.
	Act 36:Dream 3 The Dream of Mars	Pegasus appears to Chibiusa as Elios. Neherenia appears. Tiger's Eye attacks Rei in the Dead Moon Circus hall of mirrors. Demios and Phoebus appears to Rei in a vision as sprites. Rei gets the Mars Crystal. Tiger's Eye dies.
Thirteen	Act 37: Dream 4 The Dream of Jupiter	Mamoru continues to cough up blood as the Dead Moon comes to the Earth. Hawk's Eye attacks Makoto. Makoto sees the Jupiter Sprite in a vision. Makoto gets the Jupiter Crystal. Hawk's Eye dies.
	Act 38: Dream 5 The Dream of Venus	Elios appears to the senshi and explains the approach of the Dead Moon. The four guardians are attacked by the quartet and an unnamed lemures. The scene closes with Minako (unable to transform) hanging on to the edge of a building while Artemis hangs on.

Makoto's Depression

Makoto continues on a bad luck streak (i.e. she constantly thinks of her past failed relationships, and gets 50's in tests, etc.). A youma called "Escape" appears to be responsible. When the youma is finally identified, Jupiter kills it with Jupiter Flower Cyclone.

Fourteen	Act 39: Dream 6 The Dream of the New Senshi	Hotaru and the outer senshi reappear. The outer senshi see a vision of Pegasus and Chibi Moon. Sailor Saturn awakens and gives the outer senshi their crystals (new transformation compacts) and creates a Holy Grail which showed a vision of Serenity and Endymion suffering. Switching back to the inner senshi, Artemis mysteriously transforms into a man and gives the Venus Crystal to Minako. The unnamed lemures dies. The quartet attacks the inner senshi. Hotaru, Setsuna, Haruka, and Michiru appear to the scene of the battle. The outer senshi (except Saturn) attack with their usual attacks. Chibiusa sees in her Deep Aqua Mirror that the senshi are fighting, transforms, and uses the mirror to teleport to the battle. Usagi and Mamoru also transforms and goes to the scene of the battle. Neptune's Submarine Reflection reveals that the Dead Moon can already be seen from Earth. Zirconia appears and traps Moon and Tuxedo Kamen in a dream world. Saturn and Chibimoon goes chases after the quartet. Saturn was about to awaken the quartet, but Zirconia seals them in their Magic Spheres (their billiard balls) Zirconia traps Saturn and Chibimoon in a mirror and gives them and the spheres to Neherenia.
	Act 40: Dream 7 The Dream of Elios	In the dream world, Elios appears to Usagi and Mamoru and explains the history of the Silver and Golden Crystal. Neherenia attacks the three in the dream world and with his last ounce of strength, Elios sends Usagi and Mamoru back to the real world and revives all the senshi. Elios dies. Zirconia appears and apparently kills Moon and Tuxedo Kamen.
Fifteen	Act 41: Dream 8 The Dream of the Dead Moon	Tuxedo Kamen slaps the senshi out of their trance. Apparently, the death scene was only an illusion. The four guardians and the three outer senshi injures Zirconia with Sailor Planet Attack Zirconia retreats into the dream world through Neherenia's mirror. Moon follows Zirconia into the mirror just as the portal closed. Moon releases Saturn and Chibimoon. The senshi who are on Earth smashes the mirror and released the trapped senshi. All the senshi use Sailor Teleport to teleport to Ellusion (Elios's domain). Neherenia follows the senshi to Ellusion and explains her past. According to Neherenia, she was trapped in her mirror by Queen Serenity when she forcefully showed up to Serenity's birthday celebrations. As she was being sealed, Neherenia claimed to have cursed Serenity and caused the Silver Millennium to collapse. However, as Saturn pointed out, she was the one who destroyed the Millennium. As Sailor Moon contemplates Neherenia's claims, Neherenia forcefully rips out the Silver Crystal from Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon dies. In disbelief, Endymion activated the Golden Crystal (it was always in him in the manga) and revives Sailor Moon. As Sailor Moon regains consciousness, the two crystals continue to glow. Suddenly, the Sailor Sprites and the three cats (in their human form) appear. The senshi also change into their princess outfits. The Holy Moon Chalice appears as the ten senshi combines their powers. Eternal Sailor Moon appears.
	Act 42: Dream 9 The Dream of the Earth and the Moon	The Eternal Tier appears. The ten senshi and Endymion all combine their powers. All the senshi became the Eternal senshi. (Except for Moon, everyone's compacts became starshaped. The senshi also all have double layered skirts of the same colour but have no wings.) Neherenia reveals that she and Zirconia are the same person and dies. Chibimoon gains her own Silver Crystal. Elios is revived. Elios gives Endymion his staff. Moon and Prince Endymion become Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion. Serenity releases the quartet. The Amazoness quartet become the Asteroid senshi. Sailor Pallas, Sailor Vesta, Sailor Juno, and Sailor Ceres appear. The Asteroid senshi go to the future. Elios returns to the dream world.

Galaxia appears and takes Mamoru's starseed (the Golden Crystal). Mamoru dies. Sailor Iron Mouse attacks the senshi at a Three Lights Concert. The senshi's Crystal Power transformations now changes them into the Eternal senshi. Sailor Iron Mouse dies. The Sailor Starlights appear.
	Act 44: Stars 2	Chibichibi appears. Princess Kakyu (Fireball) lands on Earth. Chibichibi appears at Usagi's house with an incense urn. The Three Lights starts to attend Juuban High. Sailor Aluminum Siren appears. Sailor Moon accidentally kills Mercury and Jupiter as they were used by Aluminum Siren as human shields. The Mercury Crystal and Jupiter Crystal (their starseeds) are taken and teleported to Galaxia. Aluminum Siren dies.
	Act 45: Stars 3	The outer senshi checks astronomical records and determines that the Three Lights are aliens who landed as comets. Sailor Lead Crow appears and attacks Rei. Sprite Phoebes and Sprite Demios appear to defend Rei. Phoebes and Demios get their starseed taken. The other senshi arrive. Sailor Lead Crow is killed by Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss. Galaxia appears and takes the Venus and Mars Crystals. Sailor Moon starts to remember seeing Mamoru's starseed taken by Galaxia. In the future in Crystal Tokyo, the four guardians have gone missing and Pluto reports that someone has altered the timeline. Back in the present, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto go to their respective planets to use their palace computers to look for data on Galaxia. Sailor Tin Nyanko appears briefly. Pluto dies. Hotaru teleports to space to try to save Pluto. Back on Earth, the Three Lights have cornered Chibichibi and are trying to take the incense urn. Princess Kakyu appears to the Three Lights.
Seventeen	Act 46: Stars 4	Princess Kakyu tells the Starlights that they must work with Sailor Moon. Eternal Sailor Chibichibi (with wings) appear. Sailor Tin Nyanko attacks Luna, Artemis and Diana. The three cats' crescents crack and they lost human-like consciousness. The Starlights, Princess Kakyu, and Sailor Chibichibi arrive. Tin Nyanko dies. The mysterious long-haired villain appears to Usagi and Chibichibi when they were alone, reveals that she's Galaxia and attacks.
	Act 47: Stars 5	Galaxia destroys the Holy Moon Chalice. Chibichibi suddenly transforms, recreates the Holy Moon Chalice, and repels Galaxia. Moon, Chibichibi, Kakyu, and the Starlights travel to the edge of the solar system to find the outer senshi. As they arrive to the Uranus and Neptune palace, the corresponding senshi's remains fade away. As they arrive to the Pluto Palace, Saturn's starseed was taken.
	Act 48: Stars 6	Moon, Chibichibi, Kakyu, and the Starlights decide that they must go to Galaxia's base at Sagittarius Zero Star. In the future, Chibimoon tells the Asteroid senshi to guard Crystal Tokyo while she returns to the past. Sailor Lethe and Sailor Mnemosyne appear and attack. As Rete and Muemosyne were about to be healed by Moon, two mysterious senshi appear and killed them. The two mysterious senshi attack Moon and the others. Sailor Chibichibi uses her Eternal Heart Tier to defend Moon and Kakyu. The Starlights' starseeds were taken. The two mysterious senshi disappear.

The Story of the Secret of Hammer Price Hall

Usagi, Chibiusa, Hotaru, Mamoru, Naruru and Ruruna (Chibiusa' friends) appear. Chibiusa, Hotaru, Naruru and Ruruna go to Hammer Price Hall to shop. Fuumatsu Yuusei appears. As Chibiusa and Hotaru leaves, the land owners come to evict Yuusei. The owners hire gang members to run down the building with garbage trucks. When the building began to collapse, a youma which causes people to shop appears. The youma, Madame Soufu, possesses Hotaru but is dispelled.
