AILM

"Making the Gospel at home in Asia"

The AILM vision is based on a consciousness that is both creative and realistic:

Creative because it recognizes the need for new ways of thinking and more innovative approaches to art forms,

Realistic because it looks at the conditions under which individuals, communities and countries exist.

The AILM vision is premised on the assumption that it is in the Arts where the aspirations and value system of the people are felt most. The Arts offers more insights, provides richer experiences and more profound challenges.

Developing a more meaningful Christian life

Worship has to be rooted in the life and times of the people. Their art and culture, their music and liturgy exemplify a rich body of individual and collective experiences.  From this will emerge a more meaningful and contextualized practice of faith, courage and goodwill.

AILM is envisioned to be the venue through which worship and the creative arts, including Music, will be developed into truly people-based. endeavor that responds to the needs of the churches for:

· Research on the rich symbols and manifestations of music and arts in the various Asian communities
· Contextual revision and adaptation
· Creation and authentic composition
· Sharing of ideas, experiences resources and materials
· Expertise.
