Baby due - December 1999
Baby due, operation, new bike
Chari will be enduced on december 20th, to reduce complications of her blood condition. She is in pain at present due to a pressure on a nerve. It is expected to ease after delivery. She can't wait for the birth! either can I.
A couple of weeks a go finally had my operation to remove
my gall bladder with the stones. I had four attaks during the year which
I thought was just a bad indigestion.
I bought a new bike, I was considering a HUSABERG 600E,
however after my operation I thought I would make use of my youth, (or
what is left of it) so I bought a 1997 HONDA CR500, yep, CR500. That is
500cc two stroke dirt bike. It is simply an adreanaline machine. Awsome
power.
I have also taken up Fly Fishing. I have had my first
bite and I AM HOOKED !
August 1999
New Tyres for my 4x4
I bought a new set of tyres at last. BFGoodrich 32 inch
All-Terrain. 5 Tyres, very good tyres, I was undecided wether to by the
33 inch, but my wife being pregnant, I thought I better be kind to her.
I was going to buy Mud-Terrain tyres but from the experience of my brother
in law and father in law these tyres are great for the mud, at low tyre
pressure but BAD on the road on a wet day ! The All-Terrain are not as
good on the mud but much -much better on the road. Pretty expensive though,
AUS $239 each, spent about AUS $1200. Although they are 32 inch they do
not seem higher than the 31 inch tyres I had, could be the lower tread,
so if you are put off by the height difference from 31 to 32, I reckon
get the 32. I have 235K Km on the clock at time of purchase I'll keep you
informed on how long they last.

Hunting so far this year
Have gone hunting a few times this year but have not
seen a deer this year. For Easter I went up with George and Nick, I did
see plenty of sign by no deer. I did find a Rainbow trout trapped in a
pond, it was a great sight. The country has been very dry and hard to stalk.
Now that it is winter I hope to get out more, until July anyway when I
am planned to go to Mexico for work and then I'll drop into Chile to visit
my family. I hope to get some sort of hunting done in Mexico. The Landcruiser
is very reliable, we have been going out on family outings, camping at
Sheepyard flat and most recently at the Grampians. I have purchased a 6cm
X 6cm camera (photographic) and have been pretty busy learning how to use
it. I have started a portfolio, which I will update regularly as I get
the slides scanned. I'll create a link later. Chari is pregnant again and
we are praying that everything goes well this time. The baby is due early
Jan 2000. Sara is growing fast, she is almost 3 years of age. It is amazing
how time flies. It is very exciting to see her grow and developing. She
loves camping and hunting, she now has her own sleeping bag and tent (for
indoor use). At the Grampians a couple of weeks ago, she had a great time
chasing wallabies (small kangaroo) around the campsite. This coming weekend
we plan to go camping at Sheepyard Flat. Then head off for Craig's Hut,
the site where the movie "The man from Snowy River" was filmed. One of
Chari's favourite sites. It looks like fine weather, I hope to get a good shot of the Hut at sunset.
