September 20, Campsite - mile 2000!
Tonight I am speechless. Packa-Sandra and I are camped on the banks of a small brook, just a stone's throw away from the bright yellow "2000 MI" painted on the middle of the road. All day we've been passing the countdown signs - early this morning it was 10 miles, by lunch it was 5 and just a half hour before we got here, I saw "1 mile" on the rock and my heart raced with excitement. Then when I finally reached the road, I danced a jig for joy right in the middle of it (not much traffic here) while the rain splashed down on my head. It was perhaps the only time I didn't mind the rain...
