                 Goal of the Program

The goal of the program is to introduce students to basic positive character qualities which enhance the character development in students and reinforce the character development already taking place in the home.

                       How It Began

The Satilla program was born initially out of the concern of community members, parents, and faculty.  In the spring of 1996, one community leader approached the local school board with a proposal that character education be introduced into our schools. The administration and faculty of Satilla had been waiting for this opportunity.  During the summer, parents were informed of the plans to write such a program, invited to help write it, and given the opportunity to identify those character traits most important to them.  All parents were surveyed and responded with a totally positive attitude.  Many parents volunteered to help with the program.

Students that exhibit the quality of the month are rewarded each Friday by wearing a special C.L.A.S.S.E.E. Kid medal.  Each month, one student from each class is chosen as the C.L.A.S.S.E.E. Kid of the month.  This group of students is taken to the local Burger King for lunch.

Our students try very hard to be C.L.A.S.S.E.E. Kids.
