Türkiye’nin, Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması’nda zafere, dolayısı ile bu yarışmada ev sahipliği onuruna henüz ulaşamamış olması hepimizce bilinen bir gerçek.
İşte bu onuru Second Chance Yarışması için, OGAE Türkiye olarak bu yıl yaşıyoruz.
OGAE genelinde her yıl düzenlenen Second Chance Yarışması, 14. yılında baştan başa yeniliklerle karşımıza çıkıyor.
Geçen yıl Feryal Başel'in "Unuttuğumu Sandığım Anda" adlı şarkısı ile kazanmış olduğumuz birincilik, bizlerin yeni milenyumun ilk yarışmasını yapmasına olanak sağladı.
Biz de Second Chance Yarışması'nı 2000 yılına yaraşır şekilde organize etmeye çalıştık.
• Geçen yıl Hollanda kulübü tarafından başlatılan program kitapçığı geleneğini sürdüyoruz.
• Bu yıl ilk defa maddi olmasa da, manevi değere sahip "birincilik ödülü" vermeyi uyguluyoruz.
• Yarışma ilk defa bir düzenleme alanından, sınırlı da olsa bir izleyici kitlesi önünde hazırlanıyor.
• Yarışmanın ara filmlerinde İstanbul, tüm gizemi ve atmosferiyle yarışmaya katılan şarkılarla bütünleştirilmeye çalışılıyor.

Coming from a country that has, unfortunately, never hosted the Eurovision Song Contest, we are proud to host and present this year’s Second Chance Contest.
On its 14th occasion, the OGAE Second Chance Contest is produced with many innovations from the beginning to the end. Last year's Turkish victory with Feryal Basel's
"Unuttugumu Sandigim Anda" has brought us the honour to produce the first edition of the contest in the new millennium. So, we have decided to prepare an edition that reflects
the modern concept of the year 2000.
• We follow the programme booklet tradition that was started by OGAE Netherlands last year.
• For the first time, this year, the winning entry will be awarded a "grand prix" to be presented to the winner club.
• For the first time again, this year, the contest will be held in front of a small live audience in a venue.
• The postcards reflect the concepts of the participant entries through the mysterious and glorious atmosphere of Istanbul.
We are grateful to all our friends, especially to OGAE Norway and those who cooperated with us from all over Europe.
