In the dry weather at Silverstone, that McLaren team bounced
back with an emphatic 1-2 victory. Last year's winner,
David Coulthard, triumphed again with his teammate, Mika
Hakkinen, just behind him as he took the chequered flag.
An unlikely third place by Schumacher maintained a reduced,
but still healthy points lead for the Ferrari race. |

Position: 5
Hakkinen and Coulthard made a 1-2 McLaren victory with
Hakkinen making his first win of 2000. Schumacher dominated
from his pole start until a lenghty second pit stop cost
him valuable time. Then struggling with a deflating left
rear tyre on his Ferrari, Schumacher could not defend
his second position from Coulthard and came in 5th place
after a third stop for tyres. |

Position:1
Schumacher's 10 points at Nuerburgring circuit have moved
him into second place in the all time ranking of grand
prix points scores. He had now scored 616 points in his
illustratious career, which placed him behind the four-time
world champion Alain Prost, who amassed 798.5 points in
199 races. The victory marks the first time Schumacher
has triumphed at his home Grand Prix in five years. |

David Coulthard's victory here and his points cut deeply
into Schumacher's lead and set Coulthard as McLaren's
prime challenger to the German's effort at a third world
title. The McLaren driver also relegated teammate Hakkinen
to third position in the driver's standings. Schumacher
was on his way to his fifth Monaco victory when his exhaust
failed, affecting he suspension. |

Position: 1
Schumacher and Barrichello finsihed 1-2 respectively on
the wet track, taking Ferrari to a strong 18-point lead
over McLaren in the constructors championship. The drivers'
standing Shcumacher at 56 points, Coulthard at 34 points,
and Hakkinen at 32 points. |

Struggling with fading tyres, Schumacher lost lead to
an onform Coulthard and then came under threat from Hakkinen
before a rare engine failure forced him to retire. Barrichello,
with his fifth successive points finish, prevented further
damaged to Ferrari by taking third place.

At Hockenheim, the affable Brazilian, Rubens Barrichello,
teammate of Schumacher romped in for his first ever win
in 124 races. Schumacher had crashed out at the start
of the race. |

Schumacher was disappointed finishing second which saw
him effectively losing his hold on the championship position.
It was a tight battle for Schumacher to keep his second
position in the race from Coulthard. |

The 41st lap move, which saw Hakkinen lap Ricardo Zonta's
car to overtake race leader Schumacher's Ferrari in the
blink of an eye, is the finest seen in F1. Because of
that move, Schumacher then trailed Hakkinen 68 points
to 74 when Schumacher came in second to the Finn.

The masses of red-clad Ferrari followers got exactly what
they wanted as Schumacher produced a faultless display
to take victory at Monza. It was the German's 41st win,
puttin him equal second in the all-time list with Ayrton
Senna. Schumacher broke down in tears and was unable to
speak at one point. |

Indianpolis
(24 Sep)
Position: 1 Schumacher and Ferrari sprinted into the lead
going home stretch of this year's World Championship in
Indianpolis. In front of 200,000, Schumacher headed home
with teammate Barrichello for an impressive 1-2 at the
famous Indianpolis Speedway. Flames and smoke shot out
of Hakkinen's McLaren on lap 25, victim to his first mechanical
failure in 13 races. |

Position:1
It was a two horse race for the win and the 2000 World
Championship title, as Schumacher Shadowed Hakkinen, the
pair leaving their teammates a distant 3rd and 4th by
the end of the race. Schumacher took lead as Hakkinen
made the first of the two fuel stops. Schumacher won the
Driver's title, thus the Championship, and gave Ferrari
a 13 point lead over Mclaren on course to retain the Constructor's
Championship in Sepang, Malaysia on 22 October 2000. |
