I had always had some vague notion of traveling the world some day. Then a twenty-something co-worker made his fifth European weekend in as many months. If he could do it, so could I!! One minute I'm green with envy, and the next I'm headed to Belgium for $340 round trip. My gyspy soul had finally found it's wings.

Brussels

Brussels was great. It was the perfect size and speed for newbie travelers on their own. We toured the palace, bought lots of absolutely wounderful Belguim waffles, enjoyed the Grand Platz and of course went to see the Mannequin Pis.

Bruges

Brugge is very picturesque, quaint and medieval, almost like a living "museum".
