This, my second trip to London, was totally a tourist trip -- double decker tour bus ride, visit to see the crown jewels, shopping at Harrod's, riding the tube, pubbing. It was actually enjoyably mindless playing the quintessential tourist.

The Lion King

The highlight of my trip, however, was seeing the theater production of "The Lion King." They was full of rich mythology, powerful human drama and primal African rhythms which created a fantastic musical unlike any I had ever seen. The costuming and puppets were amazing. The human beings that control the puppets and wear the animal masks are fully seen giving the audience's imagination full reign throughout the play. It was truly magical.
