Grateful
I’m feeling a strong need to thank all the people that have helped me get to where I am today. I’m terrible at keeping in touch with people, sorry, so I just want to send this out into the world:
A huge thank you to my husband, my very special loved one of love. Thank you for seeing past my scars, my depression, and my piercings. Thank you for putting up with my stubbornness and moodiness. Thank you for loving me.
Thank you to my Mum – for teaching me what it means to love someone “for better and for worse”.
Thank you to my Dad – for telling me he loves me on the phone.
Thank you to My in-laws – for being so lovely and welcoming – and not thinking I’m nuts.
Thank you to Juls, Phil & Liz. I wish I could still see you every Thursday night. :( Thanks for being my best friends in Nottingham. Thanks for the fun times.

Thank you to Louise & Naomi, my silly puff daisy friends. I remember chatting with you during lunch time at uni. Thanks for inviting me to take part in Cutting Words. It’s good to know you’re both facing your problems and doing better now.
Thank you to Sally. It really means a lot that you took me to the Drs and the hospital when I was really depressed – and helped me get out of the hospital again. Also thanks for letting me stay at your house.
Thank you to Anne, my craaaaaaazy weirdo bite me gecko fiend friend from Ohhhhhhhhhhhio. Thanks for helping me and chatting to me when I was in Vermont. I hope you’re doing ok these days.
Thank you to Carolyn – for all the e mail and snail mail and gifts. Especially for the phone calls when I was in Vermont. I hope you’re happy.
Thank you to Kirsten – you’re the first person I talked to online about self harm. Thanks for all the hope and encouragement. I hope you’re still doing well.
Thank you to Jeremy – for teaching me that there is no such thing as a ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ feeling.
Thank you to Scott, the Dean – you were the first person I met that really cared that I was hurting myself. Thank you for taking the time to help me stay safe. I know I pushed you past your limits, but thanks for helping.
Thank you to Robin, the counselor – you tried to help, even though I never really appreciated you. You were kinda funny though and I guess you may have helped.
Thank you to Pete, my uni tutor - for caring enough to take the time to talk to me each week.
Thank you to the health center nurses – I was quite the handful I know. Thanks for trying.
Thank you to Dr McKenna – from what I remember, you were helpful, caring and professional. Ah yeah, the chocolate – that got you bonus points.
Thanks to miss Gem – for the chocolate and for being a lovely friend who doesn’t think I’m nuts. Thanks for reading this site.
Thank you to you for listening to me on this site – especially thanks if you sign the guestbook. :P
