Living conditions in Korea can be very good!
I have a bright, cozy studio apartment in this well-run, clean building..

Mr. Kim not only drove me and my belongings through endless blocks of heavy traffic and carried furniture up and down several flights of stairs, but he did so on a hot Saturday afternoon, just after attending a wedding! This picture was taken a few months later, when Mr. Kim came to visit and take me out for a healthy, delicious Korean-style brunch. Thank you, Mr. Kim!

Note the bottom section of the showerhead above the mirror. Most Korean bathrooms don't waste space on bathtubs or shower stalls. I'll never forget the day I got all dressed and ready for work and, when I went to go wash my hands, I had forgotten that the showerhead was still  turned on. Good thing I had a clean change of clothes nearby!
Note the "spoon-shaped" object on the lower right.

Not only are there designer jeans, watches, & handbags, but someone has actually come up with a designer toilet bowl cleaner!  It was ultimately a combination of culture shock & desperation that induced me to pay the equivalent of $20 CAD for the elegant poop scrubber you see here! As a "value added" feature, it comes with an "official" document, from The Museum of Modern Art. LOL!

A Closer Look at my Neighborhood: The Town of Yeonhui-dong
