BURGER PARADISE
(Article from the Santa Rosa Ca. Press Democrat Newspaper
Over in the West County, the burger choice seems to be at the Sequoia Drive-In on Gravenstein Highway south of Sebastopol. The open air road side stand has won awards for its burgers and fries. As I sat at one of the picnic tables with my quarter-pound Redwood Burger ($3.50), a steady stream of customers came up to order while raving about the food to their companions.
More than one person ordered Redwoods big brother, the half pound double, but I wasn't ready for that challenge. The Burgers are served on a Kaiser roll with pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, ketchup, mayo and mustard. Cheese is extra, but you get to choose from five different flavors. The burger gets my highest marks and is definitely worth the wait. The beef is served just right (you can order cooked however you like) and the condiments are plenty tasty as well. If you order fries, get the small size, unless you're traveling with a small army to feed. The small order is enough for two people.
