3 How it works 3.5 What about financial resources? The bad news is of course that it will take a huge amount of money to run this educational system. The good news however is that the system will be self sufficient once established. I refer to the scientific reports in the appendix to get an overview how much money we spend dealing with current problems such as sickness, poverty, wars, unemployment, racial and ethnical conflicts, most of which is spent once the problem has already grown too big to be eliminated efficiently. Unnecessary costs like these won't emerge if potential problems are detected, taken seriously and dealt with before they actually cause any harm. To do this, the public needs to be intelligent, alert and caring. We can see that private house holds as well as companies and states are not able to manage their financial resources well at this point of time and need to learn a lot in this area. Scientists have estimated that the earth can supply 21 billion people with their basic needs for food, drink, shelter, clothes etc. By now, only slightly more than one fifth of this number of people need to be taken care of, which means that all of us can enjoy a living standard that is five times higher than just meeting our 'basic needs'. Wealth is distributed very unevenly throughout the world, in some cases as a consequence of greed, in other cases resulting from a lack of knowledge. The latter clearly can be helped by better education, accessible by everyone (xxx said, democracy is the best we have, even though not the best there is since the people are not intelligent enough to make the right decisions). The former (greed or other negative attitudes such as jealousy and hatred) can be helped over a few generations I believe. The new system will, as I mentioned above, through highly qualified staff be able to bring out the best in every one and prevent those bad habits to take over. 3.1 Focus on the individual 3.2 Give contents to grades and certificates 3.3 High quality staff 3.4 Go global! |
