Zeus
Callista
Poseidon
Olympian Gardens - Atop Mount Olympus
The eternally majestic and sunny skies above the Olympian Gardens darken slightly and suddenly, their great puffy masses illuminated as snakes of lightning slither across their underbellies. A great peal of thunder reverberates through the air, a great flash of lightning illumines the garden, and when it all dissipates, one thing remains ... Zeus, King of the Gods. A slight yawn as Poseidon runs his hands through the water of the fountain, from his seated position he nods to Zeus for the merest moment before returning to his deep thoughts on the water. Zeus gains a bit of a mischevious twinkle in his eye, a hand rising, accompanied by a short bolt of lightning which courses through the fountain wherein Poseidon plays, a bellowing laugh coming from the son of Chronos. A start, pain perhaps, but then again, The water rises up along with Poseidon's hand, "Are you sure you want to venture down this path?" He asks calmly as the water starts to form a small orb, a snow ball gone wrong? 1 The clouds over Olympus stay the same, but the breeze picks up a bit and the sound of singing can be heard. Callista glides in and quickly folds in her wings. SHe's not quite sure what she's doing here, but the place calls her sometime. She curtseys though in the presence of the Lords. Zeus has yet to deign to notice the mortal, his attentions focused squarely upon his brother, head shaking in mischevious disagreement. "There there, Poseidon. You of all people should enjoy a good jibe every now and then, trickster that you are, my brother." "I suppose..." Poseidon offers a quick nod to Zeus.. "Then again." He shrugs as the water evaporates in to the air and as a light rain starts to fall, "Who said I was fair?" He flashes a grin and runs his hand through the fountain. Callista sits on a nearby bench and enjoys a brotherly tusstle. It shows that the gods are close to human. She knows her place here and doesn't speak until spoken too. Zeus just used his Weather power. His attempt scores an 8, and is a moderate success. Zeus sighs at his brother, winking in levity as with not even a gesture he banishes the rainclouds, sun peeking back down into the eternally beautiful and serene gardens of the Olympian gods. "Brother, you've no manners," he half-heartedly chides, "You'll drench our guest," the King of the Gods states, still not looking at Callista but it is quite obvious her presence has been noted. Poseidon hmms softly and looks up at Callista, "I didn't notice." He glances over to Zeus almost instantly, "Well I can't be perfect like you can I.." he grins back with a hint of brotherly sarcasm in his tone. Callista just used her Aerial power. Her attempt scores an 7, and is a success. Callista chuckles politely and bows her heads to the Brothers. She almost gives a greeting but does not, rather enjoying watching for a bit longer. She does however conjure up a breeze to dry herself off. Once that is done, she situates herself in a comfortable position, wings flapping occasionally. Zeus looks over at the pretty young bird, a brow quirking as he inquires, "Wouldn't you rather take to the air? Most birds tend to do that when their wings are flapping you know," he notes with a wink, in all likelihood probably just wanting a chance to look up her chiton. Callista stands, "Lord Zeus, while I have been graced with several magics, all but my Aerial talents are still new. As of yet, I can only glide, I was siply finishing drying my wings." Zeus grins with a consummate 'I told you so' smuggy look towards Poseidon. "You've my brother to thank for that, my dear." Poseidon glances at Zeus then shakes his head a bit, "You started it, dear brother.." He comments idly as he splashes the water of the fountain. "Besides, I am who I am." Callista nods deeply, "I am just thankful to be able to be in your presence, an honor very few have." Poseidon comments softly, "Only if you aren't referring to Zeus.." Zeus settles down on a bench and sighs, looking to Callista with those ever-twinkling eyes of his. Mischief ever afoot when Zeus is involved. "Well we are quite glad to have you here, my little sparrow. It's a shame we can't cage you up and keep you with us always." The Water God gives a slight glance at Zeus and then shakes his head softly. Poseidon then touches the waters surface. "I bet." Callista smiles, "That would indeed be an honor, but I believe I am more of a service as the intermediary between the Gods and Men. This is a beautiful place, however, if you wish I visit more often I shall." She chuckles a bit at Poseidon and flashes him a smile as well. Zeus winks in that omnipotently charming way of his. "Of course I do. I insist upon it. We don't have enough of you mortals here on Olympus. Naturally too many would be a bit dull, not to mention troublesome, hence why we keep you all below where we can keep an eye on you, but just you is quite fine." A swift roll of the eyes is followed by a soft, "Sure, and that way Hera doesn't catch the fox in the hen house, dear brother?" A slight laugh and then Poseidon winks at Callista. Zeus frowns at bit at that jibe. "Play nice, Poseidon. I could have left you in Father's gullet, you know, to stew in all of his digestive juices for all eternity. Wouldn't that have been yummy, eh?" A soft sigh and then Poseidon shakes his head, "Sometimes you can't take a joke brother." He laughs softly and shrugs a bit. "Ah well.." Callista has held of a chuckle for a while, but lets it loose now. One has to be very careful in the presence of the King. "Well, I look forward to more visits. Perhaps I can brighten my reputation here." Poseidon glances at Callista, "Perhaps pretty, but..." he smiles and lets it fall into a soft mumble. Zeus nods to Callista quite intently. "I doubt any of us would begrudge you the opportunity, after all. Everyone deserves a ... second chance." Callista raises an eyebrow. "I'll have to keep that in mind sir. That indeed is a bit of wise advise." She smiles at POseidon, she likes him he has a great sense of humor. "I hope that all the other Gods are as accepting as you, Sire." "Well you know.. I try.." Poseidon offers softly as he looks around the garden. A softly laugh to himself, "Though my brother there is the family charmer.." Zeus winks and rises, walking over to a rosebush and pulling off a small, green bud. The King of the Gods proceeds to where Callista is seated and offers her the bud, it opening into a beautiful, flawless red rose in his hand. "Here you are, my dear. A thing of beauty for a thing of beauty." Callista inclines her head and looks up demurely, "Thank you. I don't deserve such a compliment." She does look sdmiringly at the rose, her hand reaching for it, but not quite sure if she should take it or not. Zeus holds it out emphatically, "Here, take it ... and through it remember your honoured place amongst mortals, Callista. This flower will never die. It is infused with mortality, fed from water mixed with the nectar of the gods." Poseidon hmms softly and then nods a bit to himself, "Well see I told you to he was a charmer." He grins a bit and then swirls his hand in the water.. Callista winks at POseidon. He's not that bad himself, too bad he gets way too excited over horses. He might have gotten Demeter. She takes the rose though and, for now, places it in her hair. "That way I won't lose it. Thank you again, Sire. I shall keep it near me always." Horses, well they have their place. Poseidon grins softly to himself and then shakes his head a bit before he splashes the water a bit. "But he is still the 'king' of it all, no?" Zeus nods, his godly pride assuaged for now as he confidently settles back down onto his bench. A bit of his smile fades, however, as he finds this a good segueway for moving into other matters, "Pleasantries aside, there is something I require of you, my dear." Callista nods heavily, "I thought so. How may I serve you Lord Zeus?" Zeus glowers a bit, flickerings of light seen amidst the crown which encircles the god's head, sure sign of his temper rising. "The people of Eleusia grow lax in their prayers and sacrifices to me. You must inform them of how this angers me ... and warn them that things must change. All the Pantheon deserves it recognition, but the King of the Gods first and foremost. I will not be forgotten, and will be all too happy to provide an unpleasant 'reminder' if that is what is required." "Temper dear brother..." Poseidon cautions, "She is our only link, but yes, we have all been forgotten in their prayers.." He winks at Callista and then shakes his head at Zeus... Callista nods, "I shall make an annoucment that the gods are more than a bit displeased with the lack of devotion. The thought of pesstilance, or Persians, may cause them to make up for being remiss in their duties. Zeus lifts a finger in interjection, a spark flickering at the end of it in emphasis. "We love our creation, but mankind has been destroyed before for its negligence. Do not tempt us to do it again." Poseidon glances at Zeus and nods a bit, "Perhaps a drought.." said as if tossing the idea around in his head. Meanwhile, he continues to play in the water with his hand. Odd how he is relaxed. Callista nods, "I shall tell the people of the town. I wish to be back here soon, with better news of sacrifices and prayers." She pulls the rose from her hair, holds it in her hands and readies to call a breeze to carry her home. Standing up Poseidon glances at Zeus and Callista in turn, "I've some business to attend to, a Nymph or two as well." he comments before heading off toward the gardens, a few steps pass as he shimmers out of being, like a ripple on the water. Zeus waves a hand idly through the air in a measure of leave-giving. "Until we meet again then, Callista. Remember your charge, hrmmm?" He nods to Poseidon as he slinks off to whatever matters he has to attend to, winking to his brother. "Go back to your horses."
