OCTOBER MEETING
Announcement: Elektra shouts "Meeting in MR off of the OOC room. Page me if you want to
be @tel'ed"
Elektra says "I'm going to start now, since I'm logging. :)"
Elektra says "First, the rules just in case people don't want to read the desc. :)"
Elektra says "Ok, rule 1. I will say a topic or start a conversation. During which, you
can :raise your hand. WHen you do, I will note who has raised their hand when. After I am
finished speaking, I will call on those people one at a time. First come first served."
Elektra says "Rule 2. Please keep all OOC talk to pages, not even Public chan, since
we're all here."
Elektra says "Rule 3. If you have topics you want to bring up, wait for me to call for
them."
Elektra says "Personal comment: I hate long meetings, so I will try to move as fast as
possible. I would suggest that if you have questions, type them up in another screen and
then cut and paste them when you are called on."
Elektra says "So, first, I want to address a few things with staff and others. First: I'd
like to talk about 'missing staff'."
Elektra says "Some staffers have strange RL jobs that I've offered to work around, but
sometimes they disappear. This includes Aeneus. Aspasia has also been taking vacations
lately as well. If you have a staffer that you desperately need to talk to and they're not
here, or you feel that they are missing, please @mail me. I'm always here. I hardly ever go
on extended vacations. So, you can always count on me being here. Other staffers, as you
probably have noticed, are on very often like Dryad and Gonzo. So if you need help,
remember that some of us are always here."
Elektra moves on to 'missing gods'. :)
Elektra says "Gods are a different story. A lot of the gods have different things to do
and different roles to play both here and on other games. Therefore, they don't connect
very often. This is not unfortunate. Why? Because even when the game is in action, very few
of you will have direct contact with the gods. The gods are here to forward plot devices,
answer prayers, and sometimes appear to players. They aren't characters in the sense that
you all are. They don't have a point or mission beyond furthering Eleusian RP. So, at
this point, a lot of them aren't logging in. I do suppose that they will be logging in more
when the game opens. If they do not, they will be turned over to new players that will
take the time to at least do the bare minimum work. For now, if you need gods, the best
thing to do is what Khehotep has been doing, which is @mailing both me and the god character
about what your plans are. ICly, you can PRAY to the gods. You should only @mail me
things that you might do that the god will notice, like leave a sacrifice for them, or
desecrate their temple."
Elektra says "Questions on that?"
Laius raises his hand?
Miros raises a hand.
Elektra says "Laius, then Miros."
Laius says "If, as you say, the Gods will have very little interaction with the greater
majority of the IC playerbase, why have them as player characters at all? Why not just
have them as NPC staff-played roles?"
Elektra says "They are, more or less, NPC characters. Those that play them know what
their roles are and are happy with it. It isn't disappointing to them or to staff."
Elektra says "FOllow up question, Laius?"
Laius says "Well, I don't really see how that answers my first question. :)"
Dryad says "Okay Laius, it's like this. If we had them as NPC's, then they couldn't show
up, and interact with people. We want that aspect. They may become apart of the story for
specific plots and events so in that sense, yes, we do need them as player characters. --
Also, those that play them as Elektra said, know what they are to do, and it is much
easier for the gods, to play occaisionally then for Elektra to have to come or send a staff
to spoof, a god/dess or what not. They allow a more direct means of forwarding the plot." Elektra says "All gods have a list of rules that they have to follow as well. They got
that list when they were approved and if they didn't agree, they couldn't play."
Elektra says "Miros, please"
Miros wunnered what +Prayer is supposed to accomplish. technically, it's something a god
might 'notice,' in which case, how is it any different than @mailing about this or that?
Also, d'ya people have any website or general info on what sacrifices might what please
which gods? I know the latter is part common sense and imagination, but for those really
interested, could some info be set up in the news files?
Elektra says "Okay, first: sacrifices"
Elektra says "Ok, in the gods bb's on +bbread 1 (1/12 and 1/13), there are some symbols
of the gods. Its good to give them things that match the symbols. Also, all gods love
things that are expensive or things that are lovely. I can write up a list of things to
sacrifice and place them in news files. :) Next."
Elektra says "When the gods were accepted, as I said, they received a list of rules. They
were told in this list that the most important thing for them to do is come on the game
and answer +prayers. If they don't do that, they aren't doing their job and will be turned
over to a new player. They know this, or should know it, and will be held to it. When I
say to @mail me, its for before the game opens, or while we're in our first week or so.
After that, mail me when you don't see those gods on, and I will talk to them or turn them
over."
Elektra says "Follow up, Miros?"
Vetrus says "Can I add to that?"
Miros says "Just another Q about gods. One can pray to more than just one's patron
god(dess), aye?"
Elektra says "Yes, you can pray to any god you want to. Follow up, MIros?"
Miros says "Waitin' on Vetrus? :)"
Vetrus says "Prayer isn't just for asking for things but it's a means of talking to the
god. Yes, most people probably use it just to 'ask' for things but you could also pray
just telling them about this and that, what concerns you and the like. I imagine they ICly
would want you to talk to them every now and again if you're one of their followers, no?"
Elektra says "BTW, gods don't ALWAYS answer prayers. They were told to answer some and
not others."
Elektra says "Yes, Vetrus. That's true. YOu can always page an on-line god and ask them
if you can have a scene, btw. Most likely, they won't have one, but they might." Elektra says "Follow up, Vetrus?"
Elektra nods. Any more questions about gods or prayer?
Miros is sure he'll come up with more, but... for now... feh. :)
Elektra says "Ok, I'm moving on, then. :)"
Elektra says "I'm sticking to OOC topics for the moment before we jump into IC topics.
Next: Files. No one here is going to be FORCED to create news files. However, if anyone
wants to write any more news files to flesh out their positions or factions, you are more
them welcome to. Xylia has been doing so, and I would suppose that some people, such as
Hyacinth with 'secret initiations' etc might want to flesh out some files. Questions?"
Vetrus raises a hand.
Elektra says "Vetrus?"
Vetrus says "When you say files do you mean about our chars or the factions?"
Elektra says "About the factions. Things that flesh out files for the whole game.
Therefore, Vetrus, you could write more history files on the Centaurs, if you wished."
Elektra says "Follow up?"
Miros raises a hand?
Elektra waits to see if Vetrus has a follow up, then Miros
Vetrus shakes his head and gots it.:)
Elektra says "Miros?"
Miros wells, more of a suggestion in the same vein. If, for instance, Vetrus was gonna
flesh out centaur history, he should consult other centaurs (me me me me me!), and the two
agree/compromise. Or the Archon and the Strategoi (?), who both OOCly agree on army
history/initiations. Especially, concerning factions like The Hands of Ares and those Virgin
Priestesses and whatnot... all current members, the God(dess) in charge of the faction,
and applicable staffer should all agree, yes?
Elektra says "Of course. Especially me. :) But, Vetrus couldn't write something about the
Centaurs without submitting it to you and I. Dardanus would have to submit it to Aeneus
(or me if Ae is away) and Seras."
Deidamia raises her hand .
Elektra says "MIros' follow up, then Dei."
Miros okies, sorry. He's good. No Q's atm
Elektra says "Dei?"
Deidamia says "Just to be a little more specific, is it okay to write a short file to
help others understand the role you play, or your personality? (Sorry, roomate demanded my
attention.)"
Elektra says "If you want to write something about your own character, I would suggest
that you either put it in your +finger, or I will put a place for things like that on the
web site. :) News file submissions should be game-wide only."
Elektra says "Oops, FOllpow up?"
Deidamia sorta meant that. I figured since the King and Queen are social figures that the
people would have some view of how they act. Short blurb yes, but too long for a +finger.
Should I @mail you if it should go up on the website?
Elektra says "Yes, @mail me or email me at fair6@yahoo.com"
Elektra says "Follow up?"
Deidamia says "Nope."
Elektra says "OK, I want to open up the floor to some questions on ANYTHING OOC. Nothing
IC. Please :raise your hands, and let me call on you."
Khehotep raises his hand
Dryad raises her hand.
Elektra says "Khehotep, then Dryad"
Khehotep wants to make a suggestion, "Er, this may seem difficult, but I would -highly-
like to suggest that we, as a group, meet once every two weeks or so to keep each other
updated ont he game. Would that be possible or is that just an ourageous concept?"
Khehotep says "Holding 'court' or something."
Dardanus raises his hand.
Elektra nods. "First, I'm going to set up a VIP mailing list. That should be enough to
keep us up to date. Second, every two weeks is a lot, especially once we have a mailing
list, plus don't forget we have a @malias (@mail *VIPS). So, I wouldn't object to every
month, but every two weeks is a bit much.
Elektra says "Follow up, Khehotep?"
Khehotep shrugs, "Yeah... I ... disagree. LARPS are run once every two weeks. I don't
think it's unreasonable to expect us VIPS to all be available to the players one night every
two weeks... But that's my only bone of contention...And yes, I wanna be near Dryad more
. :p"
Elektra says "I would expect that the VIPS should be available much more than that. But,
having a meeting isn't necessary when we have all the other options. If you're speaking
of having a VIP/Players meeting, I'm not sure that's necessary. The VIPs should have their
own personal secrets that make the game more interesting without letting the rest of the
players know whats going on until it actually happens."
Elektra says "Follow up, Khehotep?"
Hyacinth raises her hand on the Khehotep thing.
Khehotep nods, shrugs, and lets it drop. :p
Dryad forgot what she is gonna say. Oh well. Her hand withers.
Elektra says "Ok, we'll chat about the Khehotep thing. Dardanus first, then Hyacinth.
Then Dry if she remembers."
Elektra says "Dar?"
Dardanus smiles. "I think a regular player/staff meeting is a very ambitious and
worthwhile idea, but as an admin and wiz myself, I know how difficult that can be sometimes to
fit in. Perhaps every few months, but usually nothing more than that is needed. A good
little push in the right direction every now and then is usually enough to keep these often
self-sufficient environments functioning, with the requisite vigilance in code and plots
and what not as a given, natcherly."
Elektra comments on that.
Elektra says "I do think that if you, as VIPS, want to have your own meeting and @mail
staff the log, that would be fine. :) But, since there will be more characters on the game
and since people have different log in times and different RL ambitions, I'm not sure how
many meetings one can fit in. Further, there are some VIPS that are very unlikely to run
into each other. For example, Miros and Hyacinth might not be RPing that much, while
Deidamia and Callista need to meet much more often than every 2 weeks. I think once you speak
to each other about your relationships with each other, you'll find a happy medium that
doesn't need to involve everyone at all times."
Elektra says "Dar, follow up?"
Khehotep pipes up, "I meant and IC event, not an OOC one." Shuts up. :p
Dardanus shakes his head, and thinks that gets it in a nushell, 'lektra.
Elektra says "Ok, further, I don't beleive you all need to meet IC since a lot of you
have nothing to do with each other ICly. If you want to meet ICly, then meet ICly. You don't
need any staff blessing for that. Just make sure its an IC meeting with an IC cause and
IC consequences."
Elektra says "Hyacinth?"
Elektra (meant by 'not meet IC' as not have tons of meetings to discuss plots, etc)
Hyacinth grins, "Ah well what I was going to say Dardanus said...I'm not saying I'm not
willing to RP but trying to get all kinds of people together IC or OOC especially specific
people every two weeks is tough and well that's all."
Elektra grins. Ok. Khehotep, any rebuttals?
Laius has a comment.
Deidamia raises her hand, more to ask Khehotep a question.
Elektra says "First Khehotep's rebuttal, then Laius, then Deidamia"
Khehotep shakes his head. "I think I got shot down."
Elektra says "If you want to rebut, you have time?"
Khehotep shakes his head, "It's ok."
Elektra says "Ok, Laius?"
Laius says "I will hold IC court once a month. I expect the ambassadors and other
important VIPs to attend. If they don't, there will be IC consequences."
Laius says "And, I understand that sometimes OOC
gets in the way, however, IC will still run on schedule."
Elektra nods. Though, I hope you will make assurances for those who can't make it because
of RL reasons. I know that when I have a test the next day, I usually can't make it on
line. Further, don't forget about our European friends who are many hours off from us.
Hyacinth just notes, "Yeah, school comes before a mush court;)"
Elektra says "As I say to my staff, RL always comes before anything VR. No one here is
getting paid. I do not expect people to miss anything, including hanging out with RL
friends, to play on this game. Its not healthy."
Laius says "You can always make up IC excuses if you need to. I'm sure I will need to at
some point in time."
Elektra says "Ok, anything final to say on that, Laius?"
Laius says "Also, I would like to open the court twice every IC year to the normal
players."
Elektra says "Sure. Talk with Dei and Aspasia about that, and whatever you choose
together is what goes. :)"
Elektra says "Deidamia, you're next to talk." Deidamia hrms. Nevermind.
Elektra says "Ok."
Elektra says "New topic. Any more questions, suggestions, etc, on OOC TOPICS?"
Elektra says "Ok, if no one has anything more to ask, then I'll move on. But this is your
last chance to discuss any OOC info."
Miros raises a hand?
Elektra says "Sure, Miros?"
Miros says "About the website? I don't /think/ its addy was listed anywhere in news
files."
Elektra says "Yes. That's 100 percent true. That's becasue we are sort of torn between me
making a site and Thisbe making one. Since I have more time, I'll probably finish it. So,
I will post the web page once its at least 1/2 done. :) For now, we only have a VIPS
page, and that's not even right since its not updated to show who's taken and who's not."
Elektra says "Follow up, Miros?"
Miros says "Statistics news files need to be added, I think..."
Elektra says "Statistics? Meaning which?"
Miros says "+abilities, +powers... what equals success, how opposition would be resolved,
etc."
Elektra says "Ah, yes, that's something that you can @mail Gonzo about. I'd appreciate it
if you did mail him about that, since the whole successes thing confuses me. :) He wrote
everything and he'll be able to tell you exactly what thats all about."
Elektra says "Follow up?"
Miros says "That's it for now"
Khehotep raises his hand
Elektra cools. Ok, Khehotep?
Khehotep says "Was that a question about Magic and rolling? And if so, could someone page
me the questiona nd answer?""
Elektra says "I just did. :)"
Elektra says "Follow up, Khehotep?"
Khehotep nods, "Are illusions going to be coded so that people with Clear Vision can move
through illusion covered exits...Actually...it's just a general code question. Arte we
going to have coded way sof using the powers or just roll and RP?
Elektra says "For now, its just roll and RP. Anything you want to suggest to be coded
should be sent directly to Gonzo. He's in charge of all code and he's the one who decides
what we need adn what we don't. Consider him the God of code. :) He's above me in that
level. PS: I'm sorry he's not here tonight, but he's at work on Monday nights."
Elektra says "Follow up, Khehotep?"
Khehotep shakes his head.
Elektra says "Ok, did anyone else have any questions?"
Elektra says "Anyways, now on to IC! :)"
Elektra says "First"
Elektra says "I want to tell you the two overriding TPs that will involve you all in the
beginning stages of the game."
Elektra says "Then, I will open the floor to all IC questions from all. :)"
Elektra says "Ok, the first TP 'thing' that will exist while we start gathering free
chargen players is one that revolves around strange weather patterns. Of course, I'm not
going to tell you all, but day to day, the weather will be doing different things. It would
be nice if, when you are RPing, you comment on the strange weather and try to work it in
to every day speaking.
BTW: This leads me to the first week of your RPing. Make sure you RP as if you've been
here a while as your character and make sure that you RP your backstory with those with
whom you have to. I'm continuing with the second TP thing."
Elektra says "The second TP thing which basically encomapsses the whole game and will not
cumulate for a while, at least, is the constant threat of a Persian invasion. As Mini
said to me earlier, you guys sit in a valley very far north of the militant greek cities to
the south. If the Persians invaded Eleusia, you'd be screwed. So, you'll hear trickles
every now and then. If the Persians were to attack, I'm sure some of you would be told OOC,
but some won't. So remember that if its IC, your character should often be worried about
th Persians. Further, most if not all of you should HATE Persians. Don't forget this."
Elektra says "Before Miros speaks, I want to see if people have questions on what I just
said. Unless Miros has questions on what I just said. :)"
Vetrus raises a hand to the the second TP...
Elektra says "Vetrus? Then any more questions on the TPS, then Miros"
Vetrus says "When you say most if not all of us should hate the persians is that just the
humans?"
Vetrus says "Or all creatures."
Elektra says "Basically, for creatures, if you feel that you had anyone fight on the side
of the Eleusians against the Persians, or with the Eleusian against anyone, you should
hate the Persians. If you never fought against the Persians, you might not hate them. But,
since its such a huge feeling throughout the city, you might just assimilate into the
belief."
Elektra says "Follow up, Vetrus?"
Vetrus hrms, "So basically it's just whether we tend to agree with the city on the
matter?"
Khehotep raises his hand for a note to Vetrus and the kin.
Elektra nodnods. Or if you've had much contact with Humans. Because on the most part,
Eleusian humans hate the Persians.
Elektra says "Follow up, Vetrus? Then Khehotep, and I'm not forgetting Miros."
Vetrus nods.
Vetrus shakes his head, "No more questions."
Elektra says "Khehotep?"
Khehotep points out that ALL the centaurs and satyrs and everyone would be agaisnt the
Persians because they have different gods. "That means, taht if they sacked the city, the
city and the countryside would be converted to their way of thinking and your lives would
be forfit with the change in belief. It's a simplification for speed here in the meeting.
But essentially all your livlihood is tied to the humuns and the local gods. We go, you
go. Ergo, you support the city."
Khehotep says "Though not necessarilly the people. Just the concept of a Grecian city.""
Elektra nodnods. Very true. But, true empaths might feel sorry for the Persians, or just
not care. So, it does depend on the certain person. The underlying feeling would always
be that Persians are terrible. And Dardanus and Seras and all their military people would
kill any Persian in the city on sight. They can talk to me afterwards for more info on
that.
Elektra says "Follow up, Khehotep?"
Khehotep shakes his head.
Elektra says "Ok, any more on the TPS? Raise your hand now!"
Elektra says "Then Miros if no one."
Elektra says "Miros?"
Miros says "What, exactly, is up with the whole 'creatures-can-shapeshift-to-human-form'
thing? In a way it makes sense, in a way it doesn't. It /especially/ makes sense if the
people of the city /really/ don't like satyrs/nymphs/centaurs/others, which is 'canon' for
Greek myth. So in essence, does the general populace dislike creatures? Or is it an
uneasy truce? Equal respect? Amiable and friendly? This should concern most of the non-human
chars backgroundwise, I think..."
Elektra says "Ok, first, let me explain"
Dryad says "Nymphs.. well, which man doesn't like a Nymph? Centaurs, are a bit
hostile/neutral. Satyrs are annoying/despised, for how they defile women. I believe. ;>"
Elektra says "We've had three different creature staffers so far. ;) They all had
different reasons for choosing what they wanted to do. Our last staffer wanted to let creatures
shapeshift. However, I'm more on the path that creatures are creatures and should not
shapeshift unless they have the bodyshaping ability. I have yet to take it out of the news
files yet. Continuing..."
Elektra says "I think that hatred is too strong for most of the creatures. Nymphs, as
Dryad said, aren't hated, but they are feared, for if you destroy a nymph's tree or pond,
you incur their wrath. Centuars are feared as well, for they're obviously the spawn of the
gods, being part man and part horse. And,yes, Satyrs are hated because they tend to drag
women off and rape them."
Elektra says "I do feel that it would be much better to have no shapeshifting to human
form without the bodyshaping power."
Elektra says "Follow up, Miros?"
Vetrus raises a hand.
Elektra waits for Miros, then Vetrus.
Dryad says "Though, Nymphs are the least feared of them all, I would like to point out.
Many famous heroes, were borne of Nymphs. They have been taken as wives, by a few. But as
Elektra pointed out, when in there territory, you tred carefully."
Elektra nodnods
Miros has a comment on satyrs vs centaurs. "Chiron was the ONLY wise/peaceful centaur.
Satyrs are more along the lines of eat-drink-be-merry. Women /did/ occasionally willingly
go after them. Satyrs did more chasing than raping. But find a story with centaurs in
it... /they/ rape. Satyrs were also debators and musicians. Centaurs were warriors. I don't
want them goat-boys having worse reps than they should. Centaurs were terrifying. Satyrs
were annoying. Canon-wise. Yes, yes,I'm aware of the disclaimer."
Miros says "But since one /can/ play with a disclaimer, what are the peoples' views on
these creatures?"
Elektra nods. :) I'm glad you brought up the disclaimer. You can play your character any
way you want, but we do go by news files and staff-words rather than straight from
mythology. Satyrs will have whatever rep they deserve on the game, as will Centaurs, but my
personal belief is that not all Centaurs are bad, while not all Satyrs are interested in
being happy and merry.
Elektra says "Bottom line: If you want to be a warrior evil mean centaur, go for it. But,
other centaurs might not be that way. Its who's more vocal and mroe RP active that the
game will see and that's who will get the rep."
Elektra says "Oh, Follow uP?"
Miros ahems. One of his Q's not answered. :) Do people of the city get along with these
creatures? It'll matter. Miros mightn't disdain humans so much if they didn't disdain him.
What can I assume, for background?
Elektra says "I would assume that people more fear the creatures because of their closer
connections to the gods than people hate them. But, if they have personal reasons to hate
them, or they just hate them because they're prejudiced, then..." Elektra says "Um. Does that answer?"
Miros will assume fear-respect, then. Fear more for him, respect maybe more for Vetrus.
He's cool. Carry on.
Elektra nodnods. "Ok - Floor is open to any IC questions. Any one have any???"
Vetrus was going to add to the previous statement...
Miros raises a hand. ;)
Elektra says "Vetrus first, then Miros"
Vetrus was going to just basically that Satyr's were more pranksters than ones who rape
(though I do realize the disclaimer just speaking mythically) but that there were a few
other Centaurs besides Chiron who were good (though not many.) So in general ICly I think
they'd tend to follow more along the traditional lines, no?
Dryad says "NPC Centaurs, are more true to story. PC, are whatever they want. Good enough
answer, Elektra? The PC's are the odd ones, of the conformists, as they choose."
Elektra says "They can follow what lines they want, but the most vocal ones are the ones
who'll carry the viewpoint for the rest of the game. IE: If an angry centaur is the one
that more people see on the grid and in BBposts, then people will view the centaurs as
angry. Get it? Yes, Dry's comment is just about right."
Vetrus nods, "Yea, I was referring to those who were NPC's more than anything."
Elektra nods. So far, news files stand. If you wish to try and write up a news file on
the personality of Centaurs, I'll be very glad to look it over and if it fits theme, I will
post it.
Vetrus nods.
Khehotep raises his hand.
Elektra says "Miros first, then Khehotep"
Miros thinks there /may/ be a news file on this, but isn't sure. "What's the general
opinion (of Eleusians) on foreigners like Teppie and Phyl here? Do we love the Phoenecians
and Egyptians because of the things Greece imports from them? Are they exotic (descs
notwithstanding ;))? Respected? Revered? COnsidered equals?"
Elektra says "News foreigners tells all of that. :)"
Elektra says "It even tells what temples don't allow certain foreigners in."
Elektra says "Something Khehotep has been dancing around. :)"
Elektra says "Follow up, Miros?"
Miros doesn't think so.
Elektra says "Khehotep?"
Khehotep says "Your statement about 'vocal' reminded me, how're +votes being handled and
who's this +vote council spoken of in the helpfile?"
Elektra says "Very good question. Gimme a minute while I type up the answer. :)"
Elektra says "First, the vote council - If you played on Aether or Promised Land, this
will sound very familiar. Every month, there will be one staffer in charge of advancement.
They will make an annoucement asking for people to 'help' with advancement. People will page the staffer, and the staffer chooses 5
at random. Usually the first five to page. These 5 people join a channel and with the
staffer, they go through every character that has been voted on and decide as a 'council' how
many points the character gets. Most characters will get an average number of points,
which was determined, but I'll need time to find my notes on it. Characters that are very
vocal on the game will probably get more points than those who aren't. This will take a few
days to do, but this is the way that I, personally, like best."
Elektra says "The way that votes are being counted are basically people will vote for a
reason, and the council can look at the reasons the person was voted on for."
Elektra says "Now, XP is another story all together."
Elektra says "XP is what you get when the council votes for you. XP helps you raise your
stats. I do not have the chart with me, but it will be posted before we open, or at least
the second day we're open."
Elektra says "Follow up, Khehotep, then I'll take questions on this."
Khehotep shakes his head, "That's was great, thanks!"
Elektra grins. Anyone else have any questions on Votes, Advancement, or XP?
Vetrus nods.
Elektra says "Ah, yes, I have the XP scale, but its still being worked out. You'll notice
that its relatively easy to get 1's in abilities while its relatively impossible to get
5's in powers. That's how its going to be because 5's are so powerful."
Elektra says "The XP scale isn't finished, however, so I'm not going to post it yet."
Elektra says "Questions??"
Vetrus raises a hand.
Elektra says "Vetrus?"
Vetrus says "So when other players want to vote for characters they do something like
+vote = or they go to the xp council?"
Elektra says "They +vote char=reason. That's it. Then, if they make council, they help
the rest of the council by arguing for or against giving points to people. Most of the
councils that I've been head of or on give almost all players average numbers of points. The
major points go to major players - ie: people who make RP for others, or people who are
vocal on the game. The minor points go to people who either have voted for themselves, or
have obviously not done anything to deserve points. This usually happens to one-time only
characters with lower case letters for names or, as we said on Crypt,
Abislaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah."
Elektra says "Follow up question, Vetrus?"
Miros raises a hand
Vetrus shakes his head.
Elektra says "Miros?"
Miros says "Okay, so we're VIPs. We're 'famous,' some more than others. Courts must have
been held in the past where VIPs have been invited, so we should work out how we feel
about each other ICly, neh? We /would/ have met, no?"
Elektra says "Good question, gimme a second to type the answer"
Elektra says "Going down the VIP list, most of the VIPS would have met. However, some
probably haven't. I don't see any reason for Miros to have met Hyacinth. Although, if you
can work out a reason, such as Hyacinth walking through the forest, or Miros being helped
by the Virgins, then that's fine. I do not dictate your personal relationships, but I also
will not build them for you. :) If you want to be ICly known to anyone, you have to work
it out between you and the other person. Therefore, I hope after the meeting that VIPS
will @mail each other and work out their relationships with one another. Khehotep has been
meeting with VIPS, setting up backstory relationships. I hope that you do that as well.
There's nothing keeping you to make +time be exact. In other words, you can RP backstory
even when we're open as long as all parties agree to do so."
Elektra says "Follow up?"
Miros is good
Elektra says "Any more questions about ANYTHING? :)"
Elektra says "Ok, well, for my closing statement, then"
Elektra says "I will be updating and adding files when I can. I do have a very light
week, so hopefully, I can get things done ASAP. ALL CODE QUESTIONS (or math questions, as
they sometimes are) should go to GONZO. He's on often enough to answer what he can. I do not
handle code at all. If you see Jason on and he's not dark, you can page him, but his
answers will ONLY be general and probably not game related. He has no final say in what goes
in theme wise, while Gonzo does. ;) continued..."
Elektra says "Please please please ask questions, mail me often, and post on the boards.
If you're head of a faction, you'll see your specific boards there. Post!!! Please RP,
and RP often! Please recruit new members, please talk us up and put up ads if you can and
wish to. Please ask staff for help when you need it, and please give me love whenever you
feel like it. :) Thats it! Any last questions?"
Thisbe sneaks in a li'l announcement/request?
Vetrus raises his hand.
Elektra says "Sure, go ahead Thisbe. :)"
Elektra says "Then Vetrus."
Thisbe grrs "Mmkay. If you haven't checked out the web site..Do so, curseit!
http://www.crosswinds.net/~meghalaya/soo/ . There'll be an update in a day or two. Also,
if you log and want it to show up on the page, pleaseplease CC it to alekah@ix.netcom.com
(me). This'll be in muh +finger soonish, so. Any other webpage suggestions/contributions
go there too. Unless you have a picture. Page me then. Is clear?"
Dardanus salutes. "Yes, sir!"
Elektra nods and will chat with Thisbe in a few minutes about that, too. ;)
Elektra says "Vetrus, you had a question?"
Vetrus nods, "Is there a creature or Centaur board?
Elektra says "Yes, but Moe knows what that's linked to. I'll find out. :)"
Vetrus nods.
Elektra says "Ok, meeting over! Go forth and prosper"
