Use of the Odissi Mrudanga in the Odissi Classical Dance -
Murchhana
-mythological story on the creation of Mrudanga.
Vrindavan Parikrama - Oral traditions on Radha-Kriskna.
Talamalika - The art of Mrudanga is well known for the intricacies of rhythmic patterns. Talamalika involves spontaneous creation of rhythmic patterns, dancers and percussionists challenging and enhancing each other.
The folk art traditions of Western Orissa -
Dhulikhel - The folk artists and Odissi dancers interact, highlighting the special features of each style.
Study of the Sabara tribe of Orissa -
Jagannatha Priya Natakam - the evolution of Jagannatha from a tribal god to an Ariyan god.
Study on Temple dance tradition of Puri and the rituals & festivals associated with the temple -
Sampoorna
- Temple rituals and festivals. Real life situations, incidents and personal philosophy, narrated by the last few Temple dancers of Puri.
Rural dance movements of Orissa - for increasing the vocabulary of Odissi classical Dance -
Sutra- traces the history of Classical Odissi Dance from the primitive to the stylized dance form. 'Sutra' explores the links between the folk and the classical dance and also the areas of further creations.

Sharmila Biswas and her repertory have been recognized as one of the leading dance companies of India. Sharmila has performed extensively both within and outside the country. She has participated in most of the prestigious dance festivals of India, which included the Khajuraho, Konarak, Nishagandhi, Kalidas, Ellora, Elephanta and Soorya Festival. Her performances abroad include the Festival of India in USSR & Germany, USA, England, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, UAE & Bangladesh.

Training :
Odissi Vision & Movement Center has a training faculty with three branches in Kolkata.. The students are taught Odissi Classical Dance with various dimensions of the different folk art forms of Orissa. Stagecraft & Choreography is also a significant part of their training.

Special training for young professionals :
Sharmila Biswas has devised a special training programme for the young professionals. The training includes Choreography, Stagecraft, Costume designing, Publicity and Promotional activities and Teachers' Training.
The objective of this programme is to create and support artists, help them to develop a lifelong faith in themselves and in the magical powers of dance.
