Lighter Ball
There was a goldsmith who melted the gold
and prepared 9 balls of similar size and weight, but somehow the 9th ball fell short of
some gold, so it was lighter than the other balls, but still one could not make out just
by looking at all the balls.
He went to sell that gold. He said to the
jeweler, "These are nine balls of gold. Eight of them are just alike but one of them
is lighter than the others. I want that lighter ball back. The condition is this that you
will weigh only two times." The jeweler said, "No problem" He weighed those
balls twice and gave the lighter ball back to the goldsmith. HOW DID HE WEIGH THEM?
