Traditions:

Night on Haunted Hill
Night on Haunted Hill 2 raised $1400 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The event included refreshments and marshmallows and hot dogs to roast over a fire. It was a great success and some Make-A-Wish children attended the event making it even more special to the club. The clubs that participated in the carnival were the Social Work Club, Respect Life Club, Class of 2006, Class of 2007, SHU Theatre Department and Biology Club.

This is the biggest Hands of Hope event to date. On October 18, 2002, Hands of Hope, in conjunction with the SHU Make-A-Wish club hosted a haunted house and carnival to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We raised $1000 profit in a single night. The carnival was comprised of differnt booths, where Tau Kappa Delta (TKD), Seton Hill Historical Society (SHHS), SHU Social Work Club and the Class of 2006 hosted booths. The clubs were compensated for their dedication to the cause. The presentation of the check to the Make-A-Wish club in the spring.

Toys for Tots
On December 6, 2003 HOH sponsored its 3rd Annual Toys for Tots drive. Thank you to all the people who cared to donate. The event helped make Christmas brighter for several children once again.

At the December 9, 2002 celebreation of Christmas on the Hill, Hands of Hope accepted donations from attendees in the form of toys. In exchange, the donors were given an offical Toys for Tots cup, bumper sticker, window sticker and pin. Representatives from the United States Marine Corps Reserve joined us for dinner and accepted the toys during a presentation. For the second consecutive year, Hands of Hope was awarded the Commanders Award of Excellence for their service to the program.

At the December 8, 2001 celebration of Christmas on the Hill, we collected donations for a local chapter of Toys for Tots. At the Christmas on the Hill Dinner, representatives from the United States Marine Corps presented Hands of Hope with a certificate of participation in their annual Christmas tradition. And the good news is: we collected so many toys that the Marines had to come back the next day with another car to hold them all! Great job to everyone that was involved!

Valentines for the Sisters of Charity
On Valentine's Day 2003, representatives from Hands of Hope delivered valentines during a celebration at Charitas Christi. The valentines were made at the previous week's meeting. Thank you to everyone who delivered the valentines and put in their creative efforts for the Sisters of Charity.

For Valentine's Day 2002, we gave the Sisters of Chairty a Valentine treat by personally making over 100 Valentine's Day cards for them. The Sisters really enjoyed their cards. Thanks to everyone that helped to make the cards and deliver them!

Bowling for Kids' Sake
Hands of Hope participated in the Bowl for Kids' Sake at Hillview Lanes in Greensburg on March 30, 2003. Hands of Hope was one of three teams from Seton Hill to bowl in the event.

On April 7 2002, the Hands of Hope will be taking two teams of five people to bowl and volunteer at this event.
