What is an OP (OPerator in a channel)??
- An op is somebody that is helping in the channel.

How will you know who is an OP ??
-You can see that an op has a @ in front of his/her nick in the channel.

What does an OP do??
  1. An OP should try to make people feel welcome to the channel
  2. An OP should try to help people in the channel or tell them where to get help
  3. An OP should be a good example for people and behave nice and polite
  4. An OP will tell people about the rules of the channel
  5. An OP must follow the rules him/herself
  6. An OP is not a cop, but should make sure that the rules are followed
  7. An OP is there for the users of the channel

How do people become an OP ??
- An OP can make another person OP temporary in some channels
- If one is considered right to be a permanent OP (or AOP (Automatic OP)) only a SuperOP or the founder can make it so.
- It is normally not considered polite to ask to be made OP, the OP's will choose people themselves.
- In some channels persons asking/beggin for OP are kicked out and even banned.
