2 years. It can't be that long since I started sideorderofninjas. Can it? Was it really February 23, 2003 when I first announced Side Order of Ninjas was up and running with its first 7 or 8 reviews? As Brian Lumley is fond of mentioning in his Necroscope books about the the future being a devious thing, the past year has held quite a few surprises. Last March, I joined the ranks of the Rogue Reviewers. May saw the start of Rogue Cinema. I've continued plugging along with my reviews. While not having the number of computer parts breaking down like last year: power supply, 2 motherboards and the CPU. This year has seen my DVD-rom dying among far more painful computer problems like reformatting the hard drive and losing a lot of what was saved on it. December saw the 100^th review, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

Every reviewer has a different definition of a "B-Movie" much like the Eskimoes having 30 something words for snow. Some consider it to be a bad movie. I happen to fall more into the budget camp. Although, I gravitate more to genre movies: sci-fi, horror, kung fu, action, etc.

The reviewing side may be a one-man operation. I've had over 8,000 hits on my reviews over the past year. I couldn't have gotten that many hits by just clicking "Reload". So, I've got to thank you, my ten of fans. Anyone can post stuff online but what is the point unless someone actually reads it. I've been trying to keep a lot of my personal problems out of my reviews and can't see how my futile job search would improve my writing. This is my attempt at cheap therapy.

I actually got a screener sent to me. When a b-movie reviewer gets a free copy of a movie sent to them, it is hard not to think you've arrived. Unfortunately, my DVD rom won't play it. So, it waits watching me acccusingly that I haven't watched it yet.

What does this next year hold for me? It may not be Klingon blood oath or Pam Grier swearing vengeance. I'll keep trying to keep going at my pace of a review every week. Most importantly,If just one person is delayed from doing something be reading my reviews, just one, I feel my site is a success. I will try to keep reviewing to distract people from actually doing the important, the practical, or any required things.
