This is basically what my new friend ask me to help him with. Here is my first reply to him. To create your signature file, here is what you do. (I am assuming you are working with Netscape 3.0, and I am using Netscape 4.0, so I can't remember some of the details, but this will work, I'm sure.) First, go to Start, Programs, Notepad Now, type your desired signature in the Notepad program, and go to File and Save As to save it to a location where you can find it again. Now that your file is saved, go to your mail program and find the area that talks about Signatures. There will be a window with a Browse button next to it. Click the Browse button and when the box opens, search for the signature file you just saved. When you find it, click Open and it will transfer the file to the box next to the Browse button. Go to the bottom of the page and click Apply and then OK (or just OK if that is all there is) and the signature will be in place. It will show when you send your next letter. There is a small icon at the top of the e-mail form which looks like initials. If you toggle this, it will go from signature to no signature depending on whether you want the signature file to appear on that particular letter. ------------------ Now, about GeoCities. GeoCities will give you a FREE personal homepage. Just go to the bottom of this page, and click on the GeoCities logo to go to their main page where you can start your search for your own personal home page. You also need a good HTML editor to use to create pages off line. There is an excellent one at http://www.arachnoid.com/arachnophilia/ This will be easy for you to use and will create the pages off line where it will be less espensive. Then, it is simple to upload them to your site. Next, you need a good HTML tutorial. There is a good one at http://www.oocities.org/~olympichs/html/ If you will first create a folder on your desktop by moving to an empty area, right clicking, select New and Folder, and then you can name it HTML you can save the tutorial to this folder for easy reference. Simply to to the URL above, and go to the section on Basic HTML Go to each page in order and wait for it to load completely. Now, go to File and Save As, and save the page to the folder you created. When you click on them, they will open as if they were on line--be careful and click Cancel when it tries to open your internet connection. *smile*
