Some like it, some don't! - Some can, some can't!. What are frames and why should I or shouldn't I use them?.

Frames allow your page to be divided up into sections and allow easy navigation for the viewer if done correctly. But beware because earlier versions of browsers are not able to read frames.

Why not use them?
A lot of people don't like frames but then again, it comes down to different people having different preferences. Frames can also cause havoc if not typed correctly, especially when certain pages load into the wrong frame window and the annoying factor of getting 'stuck' in someone elses frames.

The best solution to overcome this is to either offer an alternative for the first page: eg: 'Please choose your viewing preference - Frames or NoFrames', or the <NOFRAMES> tags.
ie:

..........
..........
...........
< /FRAMESET >
< NOFRAMES >
If you are unable to read this, then you are viewing with a browser that does not support Frames. Please go to this page (note: this will be your first page)
< /NOFRAMES >
