Manager of Computer Services: oversaw the maintenance and repair of five computer labs, as well as office computers in four office locations. I chaired a Computer Committee responsible for purchasing computers for the College as a whole. I was deeply involved in four Community Access Program projects which provided Internet access to rural communities. I supervised a Computer Coordinator who assisted with software installation and hardware repair. | |
Manager of Communications: tasks revolved around the promotion of College programs in the region. I created pamphlets, posters, fact sheets, newsletters, and the College Annual Report using word-processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing software and CorelDraw. I acted as media liaison, monitored all advertising, and wrote and edited news releases. I chaired an internal Marketing Committee made up of representatives of all College Program areas. | ||

Manager of Literacy Programs: oversaw both the volunteer Literacy Program and federally funded literacy projects. When the Literacy Program began at the College in 1988, I was solely responsible for creating a new, effective Literacy Program from the ground up. My principle duties included program proposal writing, program budget development and the supervision of a Literacy Program Assistant. I am most proud of my involvement in the creation a basic skills handbook aimed at farmers, entitled Farming: Words to Live By and a distance education video / audio tape and workbook package entitled Let's Get Started, aimed at beginning writers. | |
