Purpose: Matlab/Fortran based package assembling sound propagation models for 1D, 2D and 3D sea environments:
Purpose: Package of Matlab tools for signal and interference modeling based on the propagation and interference ray-tracing Fortran model for 3D environments SHELF3 (modeling direct field, echo-field, ambient noise, surface and bottom reverberation) and on the ray fluctuation Fortran model RASS (calculation of statistical characteristics of fluctuations of ray parameters due to internal waves of the Garett-Munk spectral model). The package allows to conduct simulations of time-space structure of signals and interference (ambient noise + reverberation + local noisy sources) for 3D environments, to simulate raw signal data at the output of receiving systems based on linear (2D*) arrays, to simulate primary and secondary processing (conventional, adaptive, high-resolution) and the matched field processing to solve the target detection and localization problem for passive and active sonar systems. Evaluation of sonar's effectiveness is also available.
Example of using SSS in Elba's shelf area (Italy's western coast). (276KB GIF)
