Pictured to the right is a picture of myself and my wife, Melissa. It is because of her constructive criticisms and helpful advice that this site always looks its very best!
How it started.
Smallville News and Information was created on October 20, 2001. It was originally brought online as a hobby and was something I did to fill free time. I was a fan of Superman and became a fan of Smallville, so building this site made sense. This site quickly developed a strong fan base. Because people took a lot of interest, I felt that the site was worth investing time in. As a result, Smallville News and Information has been around ever since. My continuous goal is to bring information and content to all of this site's fans!
I strive to bring you everything you would expect to find at a Smallville site, plus a lot that you wouldn't. I strive to bring you a ton of Smallville info, a minimum pop-up advertisement site, a nice professional site layout, site interactivity, and more. If you leave this site having learned something new, or having found something you were looking for, then this site's goal has been accomplished.
The site is available online through two domains: www.oocities.org/smallvillenews2003 and www.smallvillenewsandinformation.cjb.net.
Originally, the site was hosted at www.oocities.org/jroball. After the site quickly began to grow, I exceeded my web space and moved to www.angelfire.com/comics/jhp. The site resided here for many months but recently Angelfire forced extensive amounts of advertising on its hosted sites, so I looked for a new location. After searching the web, I discovered that Geocities had increased its web space, so because they force less advertisements, I moved the site back. It is now located here at www.oocities.org/smallvillenews2003. Throughout all of the location changes, the site has been continuously accessible through the redirector www.smallvillenewsandinformation.cjb.net. If you try to access any of the site's previous locations, besides these two, in most cases there are web pages pointing you to the most recent site location.
[ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ]
In the event that you have a question, you might like to read through these first. However, if your question isn't answered here or you'd like to make a comment, please e-mail me.
I like your layout: What program did you use for the graphics and can you make me a design?
This particular layout was developed by combining elements and techniques that I've favored from the Web.
For site layouts, I use Adobe Photoshop 8.0 CS and Windows Notepad. You can download a free trial version of Photoshop from www.adobe.com. Sorry, I don't have time to make other people's layouts, but your welcome to view my source code, and I'm happy to explain any sections that you don't understand.
How did you code the HTML and can you send me the coding or help me out?
The HTML coding is all done in Notepad. I have been learning HTML for a couple years now, and have an extensive computer background (Graduated - Computer Support Specialist and Attending - Programmer Analyst [Business]). If you want to create sites, I really recommend going out and learning HTML for yourself. There are many sites that offer tutorials and tips which can be found by searching www.google.com. I won't send you my code, as it can be downloaded by selecting View - Source through your browser. However if you do have a question, I don't mind helping. However, please try and help yourself first.
Do you have (insert episode title/song/etc. here)? Can you e-mail it to me?
Anything that is available is either on this site or is linked to. If what you're looking for is not within the site, you can try Kazaa for downloading. If the item that you are asking for is in high demand, I may consider posting it on the site.
I'd like to contribute something to this site. What do I do?
Firstly, thanks for the offer! Anything you'd like to contribute can be e-mailed to me and I'll put it up at the next update. Contributed material will be credited to the contributor.
Why hasn't www.smallvillenewsandinformation.cjb.net been updated?
I try and update this site fairly often; every couple of days if possible. There shouldn't ever be more than a week betwen updates, however in the event that updates become infrequent, please be patient. I have a life, and am a college student with work to be completed. It doesn't mean this site has been forgotten, it will get updated eventually. Around holidays, such as Christmas, expect updates to be less frequent. Also, updates will be less frequent as content is less available. For example, there isn't as much to update in summer months when there aren't any new episodes of Smallville being aired.
Why isn't the a link or section of the site working?
If you find any errors or broken links, please e-mail me a description of the problem and I'll fix it as soon as possible.
