![]() Paul Amoruso, Director Paul serves as ShockMarket's Chief Executive Officer. Paul was until recently the Chief Operating Officer of the Corporate Executive Board (Nasdaq:EXBD), a 600+ person company valued at over $1 billion, and estimated to achieve $100 million in revenues this year. The firm sells best practices research to over 1,600 firms in 35 countries. Paul directed a staff of over 350 people, had P&L accountability for all business units, and was a member of the executive team that spun off the firm into an IPO in 1999, achieved 35% CAGR in revenue and earnings and helped to triple the firm's market capitalization across 1999. Prior to the Corporate Executive Board, Paul had founded (and sold) a financial advisory and consulting startup and worked for Johnson & Johnson and J.P. Morgan. Paul received an MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of Business and a bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University. Harish Devarajan, Chairman Harish founded ShockMarket and also serves as its President. Prior to ShockMarket, Harish defended a Ph.D. in computer science at Stanford University and did derivatives pricing at the London offices of Banque Paribas. In his early education, he was among the top graduates of his MIT class, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He has been among the top rankers at a few nationwide tests in India, including a National Mathematical Olympiad (top 20), an engineering entrance examination (34th of 80,000) and a National Standard Examination in Physics (gold medal from the President of India). Raman Khanna, Director Raman Khanna is a nationally recognized authority on data communication, distributed computing, and enterprise management systems. He is the Chief Information Officer of Stanford University and is the principal architect and strategist for the university's distributed computing environment and communication systems. His organization is responsible for the design, deployment, and management of distributed computing and communication systems for Stanford's community of over 25,000 people. He has extensive consulting experience in product design, information systems architecture and design, and strategic planning. He has founded, worked at and serves on boards of Silicon Valley startups and is on the Internet2 steering committee. Raman also serves as the Chairman of ShockMarket's Advisory Board. Matthew A. Smith, Director Matthew co-founded Odeon Capital Partners in 1999, and serves as a General Partner at that firm. Previously, he was a General Partner of Wheatley Partners L.P., where he was substantially involved in several "networked economy" investments, including: USWeb/CKS (Nasdaq:USWB), Gray Peak Technologies (acquired by USWeb), VerticalNet (Nasdaq:VERT), and Packet Engines (acquired by Alcatel). He also serves on the boards of Dealtime.com, Avicon Corporation and FreeRide Media. He holds a JD/MBA from New York University and a BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan. |
