GWR 5005 Manorbier Castle

The Great Western only ever flirted with streamlining – mainly to upstage the LNER. In 1935, 6014 King Henry VII and the 4-6-0 Manorbier Castle
(pictured below on a cigarette card) both received a very similar half-hearted treatment. But Loewy thought these bullet-nosed monsters had 'aesthetic possibilities'!!! By 1943, they were almost back to normal.
