Readings for Week 10

Read: Pages 94-104

Thoughts for the Week:

You will not defile the purity of love with dishonesty
or deceit, for this is adulterous. (97)

God does not order about what God has created. (97)

Enlightenment is understanding that there is nowhere
to go, nothing to do, and nobody you have to be except
exactly who you are being right now. (98)

What you resist, persists. What you look at,
disappears. (100)

To live your life without expectations--without the
need for specific results--that is freedom. (101)

The soul longs to do something about what it is, in
order that it might know itself in its own experience.
So it will seek to realize its highest idea through
action. (102)

The point of life is not to get anywhere--it is to
notice that you are, and have always been, already
there. (104)

Look for the answers to these questions:

   1. By which path can we come to God? (94)
   2. What are the "Ten Commitments" designed to let
         us know? (96)
   3. Why will we no longer worship human love, success,
        money, power, etc.? (96)
   4. Why can we not use the name of God in vain? (96)
   5. Can we experience anything which God cannot? (99)
   6. Why do we not experience heaven as being "now
        here"? (99)
   7. What does Enlightenment ask us to do? (99)
   8. Is self-denial a requirement of a spiritual
        life? (100)
   9. What should we do about that which we are
        passionate? (100)
  10. What does passion do? (101)
11a. What does the renunciate do about passion? (101)
    b. About attachment to results? (101)
  12. What is "renunciation"? (101)
  13. What is the greatest source of man's
         unhappiness? (102)
  14. What does the act of resisting do? (104)
  15. What does the true renunciate do? (104)
  16. What should you do about temptation? (104)
  17. What is the point of life? (104)

Things to Think About:

What would it take for you to know that "heaven is now
here"? How would you act in the face of that knowledge?
How is that different from how you are acting now?

The numbers in parenthesis refer to those pages of
Conversations with God, Book 1 by Neale Donald Walsch
on which this information can be found.
