"I wanted to create a portrait of KRS One mainly because I am a fan of his music - for those who are unfamiliar with his work, I recommend you check it out. I chose this pose as I wanted to capture the thoughtful side of the performer. The concept, basically, was to show the artist in deep thought with a lot "on his mind." I believe that some of an artists best work will come directly from the turmoil of working through tough times."
