"Phase Two, for those who don't know, is a pioneer of aerosol culture (known to mainstream culture as graffiti, although Phase Two would never call his art that) as well a very good friend of mine. He emerged on the scene in the late '60's-early '70's and has since exhibited work worldwide. My inspiration for this portrait was simple - I had this photograph of Phase Two that I thought would translate well as a painting - that simple. I never sold this painting, rather I gave it to Phase Two as a gift. Somethings you just can't put a price tag on."
