Anime

Like many of my generation and general temperment, I've fallen under the spell of Japanese cartoons and comics (anime and manga, respectively) - though I probably couldn't begin to tell you why.

However, I would propose that, when taken in direct comparison to the domestically-produced shows of my childhood, the Japanese cartoons (even when plagued with lazy translators) were often more interesting - both visually and story-wise. Of course, like all forms of popular art, the Japanese products range in quality from utter drek to masterpieces of the modern age. And I've seen my share of both. But still, I hold a place in my heart of fanboy hearts for the medium.

And a good number of my extant drawings, of course, reflect this.
