Danielle Carrol is the elderly wife of retired judge Lazarus Carrol. She is a hard working woman who believes in doing things for herself. She was a retired school teacher, but took on the job of teaching the Liberty Creek school when a new teacher could not be found. She has thick brown hair streaked with white and grey, blue-grey eyes, and small glasses. Danielle was born and raised in Quebec, Canada. She and Lazarus have three children, many grandchildren, and a few great-grandchildren. One of her grandchildren, Jack, became a doctor and moved to Liberty Creek. Danielle prefers calling him by his Christian name, Angel.
