Aretha Franklin's "A Rose is Still a Rose" is quintessential Queen, whose timeless appeal has received a 90's makeover by her collaborators Puffy Combs, Lauryn Hill of the Fugees, and Jermaine Dupri. (My personal favorite on this CD is "In Case You Forgot," the tale of a woman pushed aside after giving her all to her man...) Check it out!

Aaliyah's "One in a Million"

"On her latest album, "ONE IN A MILLION"-her first for Blackground/Atlantic - the eighteen-year-old AALIYAH steps out into 'the new world of funk,' delivering a fresh set of soulful romantic ballads and dope up-tempo tracks, including the smash singles "4 Page Letter," "If Your Girl Only Knew," and the album's title track."

Michael's Internet Fan Club

Michael Jackson's Internet Fan Club

This is the most comprehensive Michael Jackson site I've seen yet! EXTREMELY well organized, and maintained by Michael's biggest supporters - his fans! Plenty of links, pictures, song lyrics, even a classified section.

Baduizm

Erykah Badu

This links to the Erykah Badu section of the Kedar Entertainment website (her record company). There's some great bio info, lots of pictures, and even some audio samples (in RealAudio)! If you're not aware of Erykah Badu and her chart-topping "Badu-izms" CD (featuring the current hit "Other Side of the Game"), then you are really in for a rare treat! She blends the worldliness and jazzy funk of Billie Holiday with the street wisdom of hip hop...she's hard to define, but impossible to forget!

The Official 'Velvet Rope' Website

Janet Jackson - "Velvet Rope"

Once again, Janet proves without a doubt that she and Michael are NOT the same person! This NC-17 CD continues the image transformation begun with 1995's "janet.", which celebrated the sexual awakenings of baby Janet ("Miss-Jackson-if-you're-nasty"). On this music-as-therapy CD, the "Control" freak shows just how freaky she can get (the term "Velvet Rope" is both figurative and literal...do we REALLY need to know this much about Janet?)! Janet, I'm tellin' your mama! The WebSite has audio, video, interviews, live events, and some stunning photo effects.

Jamiroquai - 'Traveling Without Moving'

This British funk/acid jazz group is taking the UK by storm...and they're starting to blow up on this side of the ocean, too! (They recently took home the MTV Award for Best Video.) They have some SWINGING tunes, most notably (and my current favorite), "Virtual Insanity". Don't be fooled by the color of their skin or the weirdness of the hats...Jamiroquai is ALL that! This links to the "official" Jamiroquai site, which contains an abundance of video and audio clips, bio, and pictures.
