2007-2008 Southfour Basketball online registration is now Open. Please click on the Registration link at the left had side of this page for more info. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Email from Gord Jackson, CMBA, Oct. 30, 2006 Hi Folks,
I have to pass on some bad news.
I would like you all to contact your Mini coaches and inform
them that we received a complaint from the caretaker of Cedarbrae school.
Some siblings of players got into the back part of the school
and removed footwear and destroyed name tags and other school equipment.
As you know, we are in jeopardy of loosing facilities if this
kind of behavior carries on. I understand that coaches coach and they can't
be in the halls supervising siblings, but they can give warnings to the
parents prior to the game that nobody is allowed outside of the gym other than
to go to the washroom.
If we get another complaint from Cedarbrae in particular but
any other facility, we are going to have to cancel teams. We do not have the
luxury of an overabundance of facilities. We have to teach people to respect
school board property or they will not have a place for their kids to play
basketball.
Your cooperation in getting the word out to everyone is
appreciated

Hi Folks,
I'm sorry this a bit of a repeat of a previous email but we need to establish
ground rules with the coaches before we go much farther.
Would you please pass on the following information to all your coaches as soon
as possible:
1. For this season I would like the website to be our means of communicating
with your coaches. Schedule changes, clinic info etc will all be posted on
the home page of the website. Please have your coaches check evry day if
possible to make sure they have the latest information. You will notice there
are two schedule changes posted already.
I will also have a message on the game score phone in number, 691-5696, to
back up the website information.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Email from Gord Jackson, Coaches Certification Clinics, 10/04/06
Hi Everyone,
To refresh everyone's memory, NCCP certification is no longer a requirement of
Basketball Alberta for a coach to take a team to Youth Provincials. It has
been replaced with CCCP (Community Coach Certification Program).
Coaches with NCCP certification are exempt from taking a CCCP clinic for the
2006/2007 season only. There's nothing to stop an NCCP certified coach from
taking a CCCP clinic however. In some cases it might actually be very
beneficial.
All other registered CMBA coaches and assistant coaches must take a CCCP
clinic. Clinics are age specific.

Parking at SAIT
Paking will be validated by SAIT at the Wellness centre (the buzz doors where we enter the gym) for CMBA players, spectators, coaches and referees using paking lot P1 ONLY.
Parking lot P1 is south of the Jubilee Auditorium, overlooking downtown.
SAIT will NOT validate parking tickets from any other parking lot.
Patrons will have 15 minutes from the time the ticket is validated to exit the
parking lot. After that charges will apply. So make sure everyone knows to
validate their parking ticket only when leaving SAIT.
Please inform all your coaches of this procedure immediately so that the
information can get to the families before we start games at SAIT on Friday
September 30th.
