Reptiles
A little note, the only animals I have left are Tori and Tex, the really old desert tortoises. As some of you may know, there was a fire in my house that originated from my room and all my animals in my room died from the smoke. It really would hurt me to update these pages, so I won't. Just keep in mind that these were once my babies and that they were very special. I think they would like their pages to remain here just as a memoir of their short lives. So...take a trip into the past now....
I have lots of reptiles, three tortoises, one turtle and one lizard. I enjoy being around my creatures and taking care of them. I used to be this obsessive person when it came to reptiles, but I'm not like that anymore. I'm just a person with a great hobby.
Here I'm providing information about my pets, care sheets, links, pictures, etc. I know that the reptile industry has not grown to its fullest capacity yet, and still is much to be learned about them.
One thing most reptile owners tell other people when they ask about having reptiles as pets, know as much as you possibly can before you obtain your pet. They are very vulnerable. Don't just walk into a pet store and buy anything that looks cute! Little you know is that you've walked out with a Tokay Gecko or a pretty Nile Monitor, two very vicious little pets. I've heard of one Nile Monitor causing over 17 stitches in one person's arm after having it 2 days. Ask questions, read books, research, and if it is important to be able to hold your animal, handle them! Take them out of the cage and hold it. If its all squiggly, your not going to be able to hold it. But if that's not important to you, then that's okay.
Oh yeah if you have any questions to ask me, please email me at roxygenie66@hotmail.com.
