MILLER OASIS
Easily the largest of the free stages, the Miller Oasis holds a key location between
the main entrance gate and the Harley-Davidson Roadhouse.

The Miller Oasis on a hot afternoon. Staning on the picnic
tables is the preferred way to watch a show. |
The stage often has music of a more relaxing tempo than many of the other stages,
but it's certainly not out of the question to have pop stars featured in the evening. The
afternoons are usually booked by up and coming talent from the Milwaukee and Chicago area.
The front of the seating area is occupied by rows of bleacher seating, and beyond that
is a sea of picnic tables. The tables come in handy, whether they are used to enjoy some
of the fine food that surrounds the Miller Oasis, or just used for standing and dancing.
One problem with the Miller Oasis stage is that it's too low! Having the performers up
another two feet or so would help everyone's view of the show.
You'll find yourself listening to music at the Oasis more than you planned, whether
it's due to their great mix of music, or just the fact that you pretty much can't get from
point "A" to point "B" at the 'Fest without going past the Miller
Oasis.
Location:
This is the central stage on the entire 'Fest grounds. Head through the Mid Gate and
take a right, the Oasis begins only a few dozen yards ahead of you.
Beer:
The seating area of the Miller Oasis is ringed by a series of beer tents, serving up
Miller's flagship products, Lite Beer and Genuine Draft. Even though this is the largest
of the open stages on the grounds and things can get pretty packed on a weekend night, the
tents are set up for high-volume serving and lines are minimal. OK, if you're a hob-nob
fancy-schmancy kind of beer drinker, you may turn your nose up at the beer offerings. But
for you, there's a beer stand serving up products from Milwaukee's Lakefront Brewery
nearby. My favorite spots to get beer at this stage is in the far back of the seating
area. There's a small beer stand next to the Pizza Uno food stand. Tip the server a buck
or two the firt time you buy, and you'll be guaranteed to get good service the rest of the
night.
Sponsors:
The Miller Oasis is sponsored by Miller Brewing
Company (duh).
