MY LIFE - MAY

Dave and Anubis

Tom now knows that I've been considering transferring. What amazed me is that he didn't pitch a fit about it, rather he just said he didn't know what to tell me. He thinks that I could handle it, but he didn't think he was one to tell me what to do. He seemed to be more concerned about Lenny and Mike actually having to work out the schedule better. In any case, it makes me feel much more comfortable about any decision that I might make in the near future.

That was about the extent of the excitement today though. The entire store was dead and we spent most of the night wondering if it was ever going to end. It did drag on so bad that we were all considering closing the store early, but we didn't.

Besides, next week will be the interesting week. There are a few days that still need to taken care of. Tom is giving himself a three day weekend which means that at least three fill in pharmacists need to get in. This has been absolutely brutal as of late. We've closed four times now and would've closed more times if Tom hadn't given in and opened up the store. However, he's not so willing anymore and he has said that he will not be working as many hours during the summer.

Transferring to Berea sounds like a really good idea all of a sudden.

I've just about had it with Mike now. He spends all his time complaining about Lenny makes a mess and leaves it for someone to clean up. The way Mike complains about it you'd think it was criminal, he's that serious about it. Well, actions speak louder than words and what did Mike do? He left a huge mess in the backroom and in one of the aisles. He also left early and didn't tell me what was going on.

For someone who complains about messes, he sure doesn't do anything to try and make things better for anyone at all. He seems to believe that if he didn't make the mess, he doesn't have to clean it up. I'm sorry Mike but it doesn't work that way. He's just as responsible for the store as Lenny is, yet he doesn't want to do anything himself to clean things up. He makes a huge mess, leaves it, then complains about how messy Lenny is.

This shit has to stop. Mike needs to grow up a little bit. He may not be an assistant, but he should still be trying to keep things in order and try to clean up after himself. Unless he wants to stay a shift supervisor his whole life.

I just don't think he knows what he wants to do.

Once again the weather's going to mess with us here. Today it was around 70° and it's supposed to get into the 80s by this weekend. It's going to be warm and it's about time if you ask me. This spring hasn't always been the warmest, although the weather hasn't been that crazy either. We're also seeing a lot of sun, which is a rare thing around here in the spring. Usually it rains every other day, but rain's been sparse so far.

The best part is I get to enjoy the weather for the most part. I'm off Friday, Saturday after 5:30, and all of Sunday. I'll probably have to mow the lawn or something, but I'm not sure. My mom doesn't seem to want me to do it as much as I used to, probably because I'm allergic to grass clippings. However, because she broke her toe, I had to mow the lawn the last time. The one advantage out here is that the lawns are very small. It used to take me a half hour to the front yard and a half hour to do the backyard at the old house. Here, it takes about half an hour to do both front and back.

The one thing that worries me is the number of rocks imbedded in the backyard. Combine that with a dog that wants to attack the lawnmower and you have a very interesting situation developing before your eyes. No matter what I say, Anubis will just keep trying to get at the lawnmower. It's the same thing he does with vaccuum cleaners and anything else that's loud. If he could, he'd probably chase every car that came along.

That dog is just queer.
