After the formal pictures at the church, the wedding party climbed in the limos and headed for Fairway Manor where our guest were assembling. We went up to the gazebo for some more formals and a little fun.
Back down to the Manor we lined up for introductions. After mispronouncing most of the names of the people in the wedding party, the DJ asked everyone to "please stand and rise" while he introduced us . Gary and I danced our first dance to George Strait's "Cross My Heart." The wedding party was seated at the head table (someplace I remember being for like 2 minutes) for the Best Man's toast and the blessing. Oakie's toast was a "fly by the seat of my pants" humorous look at friendship, while Robin blessed us with "many screaming brats."
We had a little dinner, then hit the dance floor. We had a great time dancing and playing around. We cut the cake and nicely fed it to each other , even though our guests were urging us to make a mess. We celebrated my grandparents' 50th anniversary with the Anniversary Waltz. Our guests enjoyed dancing with us during the Dollar Dance . The dancing continued with the Chicken Dance , the Y.M.C.A, the Macrena , the Electric Slide, and the Hokey Pokey . Of course, there was more dancing. Overall, I think everyone got on the floor at least once! My little brother did not want to stop!
Gary retrieved the garter and I tossed the bouquet . Then Gary tossed the garter . My brother Craig and a co-worker Diane wished us many years with tradition of putting the garter on the recipient of the bouquet. The reception wound down and Gary and I headed back to his parents' house to change and head for the hotel!
